Alright, looks like the team is all set - I'll be honest, I popped the name in there out of pure hubris (and to jinx myself; we'll go WUBRG for sure now!) but if you guys want our team named something more awesome feel free to suggest it.

Fair warning, I work a second shift job in eastern time zone (I'm pretty sure Caley got us set up with time zones in mind but I'm a late riser, is all I'm saying) - my time spent on will largely be after 2pm or so. I am up very late though, so if the pack is passed to us super early in the morning I can probably put it up, go to sleep, and come back to see what you guys decide on.

Last thing, speaking of - I will definitely try to help you guys choose, but if at all possible I would like to mainly be a tiebreaker in terms of actual card voting. There are seven of you so far, but that may change with late additions. So we'll see.

So how does this work? We all agree on one pick or are we drafting just between our team?

If it's team drafting, I think our pick should be Putrefy or Nivix Cyclops.

My vote is for Putrefy. A good removal spell is always useful in draft.

This will be just for the group of us, picking as one (just like the old DDD was for the whole of Tappedout), and this is our pack one pick one for the eight of us.

I personally think Putrefy would be a good start. Wasn't really anything else there that caught my eye. I'll definitely give until as close to the deadline as I can manage before submitting our pick, but hopefully our other drafters get in here and confirm our choice.

+Render Silent, because that will get ridiculous if we get the support for it.

However, I would also be happy with Putrefy, which is solid in any deck, or Hidden Strings, which is another fun control/tempo card.

Just got word that the additional split card is indeed a foil! (Doubt that changes much for us.)

In regards to Render Silent. Great card, but if we go three colors (which almost everyone does) it will be harder to cast than Putrefy.

When is the cutoff for the pick?

It would seem Putrefy is the pick. Objections?

Hello! Sorry I missed the first pick, but Putrefy looks great to me.

This pack looks better for us :) I like Carnage Gladiator - drafting a 2 color Rakdos deck splash Putrefy and/or some Gruul cards could be quite strong.

Otherwise, Far / Away could lead us to being BUG/Ulgris control, which has some good synergy and leaves us a little more open. Far / Away is probably the correct safe pick, but my vote is for Carnage Gladiator.

Oh man. SUCH a tough choice. Carnage is a great body with a great effect, but Far and Away deals with so much more; it two for ones easy and deals with pesky stuff like Reckoner and all the tough DGM like Sire, Ruric Thar.

I vote Far / Away, but Carnage is a close second.

PS: Also, the regen trigger for carnage is two color instead of one, making it slightly harder to get off some times.

I vote for Carnage Gladiator. It's a fun, bomby-ish creature that will give our opponents a very tough time. I can see the merits for far and away, but I would still prefer the gladiator in this case.

On a side note, it would be awesome if Maze Abomination wheeled to us. I don't really have any expectation that it will, but that would be cool.

I wonder how feasible a Jund build might be. That could be super interesting. I don't actually remember Carnage Gladiator, despite having a ton of DGM. That is a very nice guy for us. I do like Far/Away though, I feel like hubatish is right about going kinda BUG control if we took it. I'm on the fence, I'll leave it to you guys. Hopefully some more of the team will speak up!

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that we don't have to nail down our colors immediately. Obviously we don't want to fall into the same trap we did last debate, but it's okay to be colorblind and just go for the most powerful cards for, say, the first five or so picks.

True. One hour left; Carnage Gladiator is probably the pick unless you guys change minds or we hear from the others.

All these updates with lists are getting beefy. I'm going to start sticking the cardlists in the first comment after each update. I may also have to delete these first three after the fact.

Just make sure you leave up the most recent pick for 24 hours so that I can mull through your guys' comments over the ensuing day, otherwise feel free to delete all the things.
