I feel like this is not the pack for us to get dudes. I think Golgari Guildgate is right in our wheelhouse. Unless we want a Thrashing Mossdog? Could be good. Someone's gonna have fliers; it ain't us.

I would definitely go for the Mossdog here. It's a good defensive creature, so it will help stall us to our bigger drops.

I really want the Gate here. i can see how Mossdog is fine, but i REALLY want the Gate. Im not sure, i think im leaning towards Gate.... But... We're also short on playable cheaper creatures

I vote guildgate. We already have 13 creatures, 1 of which we MIGHT not play (Tajic), the rest are solidly in our colors. If not the guildgate, then the mossdog.

Im thinking the MossDAWG because it can actually attack and i think we need some creatures that can activate battallion on the real big dawg tajic.

this is the pack for the grixis deck. I think Haunter of the Nightveil is going to be a real challenge to face in this format.

Hey Nickytwoshoes, so do you think we shouldn't be greedy and try to play tajic. I think he would be really powerful in this format because of his indestructibility and we can splash coz of our guildgates or do you think we should stick to consistency?

I'm gonna be honest, if you guys decide we don't want Tajic I might be a sad panda. He's just so good.

And now that I think about it, in a long, drawn out game, the Mossdog might be good simply because we can Scavenge him onto Tajic.

But gosh we need that fourth guildgate so bad.

Weren't we talking a while ago about how we had "too much fixing and not enough creatures?"

I think we should definitely take the Thrashing Mossdog here. I wasn't very excited about playing two Hired Torturer exactly.

Frostblade says... #11

If the game does stall out, Hired Torturer will allow us to continue doing damage. Trust me this card is underappreciated in draft. its only a 3 drop and unlike other defender it actually has some power so it can trade. It's just another mana outlet late game.

Also, i was wondering why do we need the other guildgate so bad since we have all these cluestones so we are most likely going to use at least one.

I still think Mossdog is the correct pick here.

I'm sold. I vote Mossdog.

No. I think tajic is a BOMB in limited and worthy of playing. i still vote guildgate.

Now here's a pack for us! Armed and Dangerous? Gruul War Chant? Korozda Gorgon? Kraul Warrior (which might wheel)? Maze Behemoth? WAT DO, TEAM?

We now have 13 creatures, so I think I'll vote Armed / Dangerous . Dangerous is pretty castable to let us kill a small guy, and fused we can hit for ten damage or wrath their board. Korozda Gorgon is just another big guy, especially with only 2 sources of +1/+1 counters in our deck.

A Kraul Warrior or two would also be nice.

July 22, 2013 8:43 a.m.

Armed / Dangerous is pretty much the best card in the pack. We don't have enough supporrt for the Korozda Gorgon , Gruul War Chant is pretty sweet, but Armed&Dangerous is just better. Kraul Warrior hopefully tables.

I like the way you think, NickyTwoShoes.

This pack :3. All the cards you guys listed above would be sweet in our deck but i agree that Armed / Dangerous is too good to pass.

July 22, 2013 3:06 p.m.

Frostblade says... #21

Korozda Gorgon has a possibility of boarding. Its a 2/5 with deathtouch which can attack and survive or trade with anything so it would be pretty good if we could use it too.

TridenT says... #22

I really don't think anyone else is strong in Golgari (unless, like us, they pulled an early Putrefy and rolled with it) so I agree with Frostblade about the Gorgon maybe wheeling. I think we've seen enough Kraul Warriors go around that we'll see another or two.

I agree Armed / Dangerous is going to make our biggest plays shine like diamonds. I would be more than happy to use it on either Tajic or the Master, and I intend to if at all possible.

I'm actually going to vote for the Gruul War Chant . It still makes our Master of Cruelties really really good. It gives the +1/+0 buff, and requires two blockers, so our Master of Cruelties will either kill two creatures or take them down to one, and our other creatures that also have the effect of the War Chant will finish off our opponent. It just seems pretty good to me.

Frostblade says... #24

So the real question is: should we go with Armed / Dangerous or Gruul War Chant

July 22, 2013 10:12 p.m.

Timekeeper says... #25

The problems I see with Armed / Dangerous is that I am afraid it will kill Master of Cruelties and that it can only be used once. The first worry comes from the fact that, while he gets +1/+1 (making him a 2/5) and double strike, he can only kill four creatures, and only two of those during first strike step. Now, our opponents aren't necessarily likely to have more than four creatures, and we do still trade one creature for four of theirs. Still, I would prefer him to survive and hit the opponent, and Armed / Dangerous will prevent that from happening (most likely).

However, Gruul War Chant (which costs 2 less) lets us kill two creatures every combat if they choose to block or make it easier to get in that almost-fatal hit. And it happens every turn unless they have some form of removal. Also, it affects any other creatures we may have out, such as say a Carnage Gladiator or a Maze Behemoth , both of which will very quickly start to hurt our opponents once the enchantment enters the battlefield.

I prefer the longstanding advantage of the enchantment since I feel it fits the playstyle of our deck more.
