Their both good cards but i agree with your argument. I'll vote for Gruul War Chant

But Armed / Dangerous is sorcery speed so we have the chance of getting 2-for-1. I kinda would prefer the enchantment anyway since it affects all our creatures.

Gruul War Chant helps win the game by giving our bombs evasion.

Bah! You and your logic! I also forgot to look at the casting cost of the enchantment, which is very nice. It's permanent evasion for all our creatures. I change my vote to Gruul War Chant
July 23, 2013 1:05 a.m.
Well butts. Let me email Kaley again.
That's what I get for thinking we have this all wrapped up.
July 23, 2013 1:47 a.m.
I actually stopped to go tally it up, just for reference - it was 5 in favor of A/D at first, myself included. Jarrheadd changed a bunch of minds, again myself included, and it became 2 for A/D, 5 for Chant.
Frankly, I'm just happy most of you guys are still here doing all this voting!
July 23, 2013 1:54 a.m.
Well I think Caley conked out on us - no pack rotation as of yet. I have to head to bed.
July 23, 2013 5:54 a.m.
Okay, well, I'm flabbergasted. No word on pick 4 yet. I summon KrazyCaley to explain!
July 23, 2013 3:03 p.m.
KrazyCaley says... #11
That is really weird. It should have been sent. Let me check.

KrazyCaley says... #12
Huh. I'm not sure why, but my e-mail to you at midnight bounced. All the other groups got theirs. I'll send a test e-mail shortly to make sure we can still communicate that way.
Here's your pack. If you need more time past midnight to get it done, I understand. If you CAN get it in by midnight, that would be awesome.

Battering Krasis or Steeple Roc . We only have one creature with reach and a Putrefy to deal with filers so i vote for the Steeple Roc
July 23, 2013 6:27 p.m.
Yeah, weird. I've gotten no email since I sent you our pick and our revised pick, Caley. I just sent another, hopefully my gmail isn't blocking you for whatever reason.
Nicky, I appreciate that Roc's a flier, but I wonder if a Riot Piker might be a choice, even over the Krasis.
July 23, 2013 7:55 p.m.
Alright, email seems to have been resolved. I know you all usually vote while I'm sleeping or getting ready for work, but the pressure's on and technical difficulties cannot end our streak! Get in here, Jarrheadd0, hubatish, TheSeventhNinja, Timekeeper, and Frostblade (and CyRRdaR and CenturionRower while we're at it) and vote!

(I had much more drawn out arguments here but they didn't post properly, so here's the short and sweet version.)
Steeple Roc isn't worth its cost. Even more so considering that we only have white because of Tajic.
Riot Piker is significantly worse than a bear, since he die on turn three even with his first strike."Attacks each turn if able" is only usable on large creatures like RURIC THAR!!!!.
I would have loved to have had Maze Abomination instead of the Maze Rusher we got a while back, but at this point we just have way too many high-cost creatures to add another. This leaves Battering Krasis as my vote, since it fills a slot in our curve and is a generally efficient creature. (Also, our larger creatures will give lots of evolve triggers.)
July 23, 2013 10:11 p.m.
I do kinda want the Abomination, but I agree with you on the Roc not being worth five mana. Like, really not. It's good enough to kill our Mossdog and that might bite us, but it's splash color as is. Too many hits against it.
I think another Battering Krasis is a good call, and I have a feeling we'll see another Abomination and frankly I think if we do we should pick it up.
July 23, 2013 10:37 p.m.
Yeah, Steeple Roc
is not the kind of card we want to splash. It's also expensive, and we have enough big expensive things. I agree with Battering Krasis
unless you want to go real 5 color with the Krasis Incubation
.
Building our mana base right now I think we're something like:
6 Mountains + 2 Boros Guildgate for 8 red.
6 Forest + Golgari Guildgate for 7 green.
5 Swamp + Golgari Guildgate
for 6 black.
+ probably Selesnya Cluestone
and any of Rakdos, Golgari, or Gruul. 1 Island and 2 different Cluestone probably hurts us more than the one removal spell helps.

Jarrheadd0 says... #19
While I think you're underestimating the power of a 3 power flying first striker, I agree that Steeple Roc is not the best card here. It's white, which is our splash color, so we don't really want to make ourselves too reliant on it. I'll vote for the Battering Krasis . It fills a slot we need filled.

Jarrheadd0 says... #20
Also, hubatish, I think your numbers are a bit off considering that this'll be a 40-card deck, and we don't really want 21 lands. Closer to 17.
July 23, 2013 11:22 p.m.
Frostblade says... #21
Yeah, i think Battering Krasis is our only choice here.
How many land do think we would be playing with this deck? I'm thinking 18 land with 22 spells. We have one mana dork and we most likely are going to use two cluestones maybe. Just wondering.
July 23, 2013 11:22 p.m.
With as many big boys as we look to be using, I feel like 18 land is a shoe-in.
July 23, 2013 11:37 p.m.
Blaze Commando
Sin Collector
Armored Wolf-Rider
Azorius Cluestone
Fatal Fumes
Gruul Cluestone
Gruul Guildgate
Hidden Strings
Maze Sentinel
Murmuring Phantasm
Simic Guildgate
(foil)
July 24, 2013 3:01 a.m.
White splash here, white splash there, white splash everywhere. Yeesh.
Fatal Fumes? Could remove something little, or combat trick us a win. Gruul Guildgate could never hurt, because fixing in two main colors. Or we could grab any number of these nice splashables. I partway feel like a Maze Sentinel could really help our numerous multicolor guys. I also feel like we don't have a single Gatekeeper, and we're going to see a lot of 2/4s against us.
July 24, 2013 3:05 a.m.
NickyTwoShoes says... #25
I think Gruul Guildgate is the obvious choice here. If we were splashing blue, I;d jump on the Hidden Strings, but the guildgate is in our colors. Hard to pass that up.
TheSeventhNinja says... #1
Taking out Master of Cruelties , Armed / Dangerous can remove almost all their creatures and help end the game, Gruul War Chant , doesnt.
