I prefer the guildgate over any of the other cards.

It would be pretty cool if someone made an all gatekeeper deck in this format. Just saying.

Also, after looking at the cards left, white is extremely open.

I've seen the all gatekeeper deck in this format. It looks real good on paper. Then you get crushed. Horribly.

That said, I really feel like someone watched the LoadingReadyRun video of them doing that, and said "yeah, that's our team baby, all the way". I dunno.

White is super duper open. I think the person playing the most white is who we're passing to right now. We will keep on seeing white picks til probably 6 or 7, I'd wager. If we want to splash that Sentinel or something, the time is now.

Nah, Gruul Guildgate, we're playing 4 colors and we don't have much mana fixing, and who knows if more mana fixing will come this late?

Yeah, Gruul Guildgate is pretty cool. This pack is going pretty well for us even with the white. Bring on the two and three drops!

I could make an argument for the Armored Wolf-Rider just because of the huge body and the fact that it's easily splashed, but I suppose we should take the Gruul Guildgate . Unless you guys think it will table.

Guildgate it is, then. I hate to be the debbie downer hubatish, but we aren't going to see two drops unless it's Kraul Warrior. It really feels like three drops are the two drops of the triple DGM format. These may be some slow games.

We have so many creatures?! How was this a problem earlier...rofl

Haha. The color pie is fooled, but we still have a few spots to fill I'm sure.

Trying to start work on the build - feel free to make suggestions for cards that could be boarded.

Oh shucks, I must've missed the portion of the draft where we drafted 100x Atogatog .

That was the mythical Pack 0. We nailed it, I think.

I am SUPER dubious that this is our pack - it seems extremely similiar to the one we just passed. But I haven't heard back from Caley so I presume it's a derp on my part for now. So... about that Maze Sentinel or Fatal Fumes or maybe Wolf-Rider?

July 25, 2013 2:59 a.m.

Jarrheadd0 says... #15

Fatal Fumes seems...bleh. I'm voting for the Armored Wolf-Rider .

If we're going to splash some more, I'm frankly going to vote for Maze Sentinel. If nothing else, we can put him out and swing with a pre-existing Tajic or Master (or Rot Farm or Carnage Gladiator or Scab-Clan) and leave them standing for defense. I would swap it in for Maze Rusher in a heartbeat.

I would consider Fumes instead if we want to keep our splash to a minimum and as I've said previously it can be a combat trick. But it is a very bleh spell.

I think Maze Sentinel seems legitimate.

hubatish says... #18

I'm voting for Fatal Fumes . Either as a combat trick or straight up removal for any X/2 (Wind Drake ) it will do more work for us than further straining our mana base for our 102th 5 drop.

Also, I think we should pick up a couple Fusion Elemental s to diversify our threats in case of Slaughter Games .

Picking up Fatal Fumes will generally give us more options than 'upgrading' our Maze Rusher into a Maze Sentinel . And I'm not convinced it's an upgrade, because we're probably only playing 3 white sources.

July 25, 2013 9:16 a.m.

Fatal Fumes. It's not amazing removal, but its fine.

If we pick up Maze Sentinel, we should be playing 4 white sources then, and then we're cutting off much needed mana for our popular colors.

July 25, 2013 10:16 a.m.

Frostblade says... #22

I'm picking Fatal Fumes as a 23 card in our deck. If we have to play him, go ahead but if we don't need then we don't. We can't really afford to splash more white cards without more white mana fixing,

July 25, 2013 1:17 p.m.

TridenT says... #23

All good points about the white mana sources. Let's be fair here, Fumes IS removal.. just not very much of it. But we need more, and Fumes actually helps with a surprising number of the fliers in DGM. You all have spoken.

Saruli Gatekeepers is pretty much the duh choice here, I think. No?
