From Caley:
1 - What colors do you predict were most open, and least open?
2 - How many match wins (7 total possible) do we think we'll accumulate in the round-robin?
3 - What do you suspect to be the colors of the player to our right (who passed to us in packs 1/3) and the player to our left (passed to us in pack 2)?
4 - How did it appear our draft evolved? Caley wants us to pick at it a bit. How did we like Triple DGM, and how do you think we discussed/worked together/etc? (I think we expressed some of this answer a few updates ago, but reiterate if you would please.)
From me: How was I as mediator slash tie breaker (that we barely needed), and how much will you forgive me when I pilot this pile of cards directly into last place? :)

Additional: Possible card issue. I think when I had the email trouble and we had that reversal of opinion on pack 3 pick 3, it may not have gotten to Caley in time that we had switched from Armed / Dangerous to Gruul War Chant . I'm not sure what will come of it yet, but if it does come to it, is that a suitable exchange? Or do we want something else in the deck instead of the split card?

Just a call to the team to assemble for these last few proceedings:

Well that really sucks. I was counting on that card to put our deck above other decks. Since we are now playing Armed / Dangerous , i don't think we need Weapon Surge any longer and should just mainboard the fatal fumes.
1- Most open was white and blue and least open was green and red.
2- If we would have had the Gruul War Chant i would expect more wins but without it i can hope for at least 4 out of the 7. Pretty sure whoever is playing Haunter of Nightveil is gonna have an insane deck. That card is one of the strongest cards in this set.
3- I expect the person to our right to be in something with white and the person to our left to be in red and green.
4-The first picks we had a couple of arguments over which color to go into but these diminished after we figured the final colors of the deck. I think we had some pretty good discussion for example the turnover on the original Armed / Dangerous decision. Without the cluestones, triple dgm decks would be a total mess. Fortunately there is so much mana fixing which allowed us to have some sort of a consistent deck. I enjoyed the drafting phase of this event. It was my first time doing something like this so it was pretty cool.
5- I don't see this deck getting last place it has some pretty decent cards that will surely get the job done as long as the opp doesn't have some super synergy going on. I think you did a great job as a mediator. You were very efficient and gave some good insight over which picks we should consider. Two thumbs dude.
Overall, good times and i hope we turn up :3

I know we were getting a lot of black early on, as well as some blue. I wasn't really paying attention to white, unfortunately. As far as least open, of course the colors we were going for felt least open since we couldn't get what we wanted a lot of the time.
I really have no idea how well we'll do, we have a pretty janky build. However, I am expecting a slow format. With that in mind, I'm hoping we're at least one of the top four.
I agree with Frostblade, the person to our right like used some version of white, and the person on our left had all our red and green.
We had some struggles settling into our colors, but once we did the picks were fairly straightforward. Our strategy remained consistent and we picked up what we needed to make it work.
I think you did a great job as mediator, and I don't think you'll get last place, or even any of the low places. If you don't... well I'll just have to introduce to my friend here. His name is Mr. Dim. Mr. Circ Dim.

It's a little hard, as this took a long time
1 - I'd say white was open.
2 - I'm excepting 3 or 4,
3 - Yeah, Right had white, and left had red or green, not both.
4 - I think getting good cards in your color is very hard in this set, DGM was meant to be glue for RTR and GTC,so great cards are hard to come by. Every one is drafting 3 or 3 spalsh one probably, with maybe a 5 color gatekeepers in here somewhere.
5 - You were a great mediator. I don't think we ever had a big issue over anything, and you did great. If we get last place, then everyone else most have opened 3 Exava's or something.
August 4, 2013 2:37 p.m.
Most open: white, a little blue and red. There were some good red cards pack 1, but they dried up. Late there were a lot of good white and blue cards pack 2 and 3. Least open: black, green. None of those Kraul Warrior wheeled :(
I think we can pull off some wins. Our deck is pretty good mana-wise, and we have a lot of huge dudes to beat face with. As long as we can hit 5 or 6 mana we should be doing good.
From the right (at least in pack 1) it seemed like red was open, but I think the player on our left also picked up on it and got into red/green. The player on our right was maybe in black/white - we saw maybe one good black card after pick 1.
Early on we had a few big questions, but after that we mostly agreed on what to take. Discussions brought about a lot of interesting points though, and having a whole day gave us a lot of time to think. Even late picks were interesting - which Cluestone do we take?!? I think we got just about the best deck we could, and I learned a good deal about the block.
You did good. Thanks for always getting the cards up there quickly - 4 am my time! I'm looking forward to watching the matches.

Well that really sucks. I agree with the sentiment to drop Weapon Surge in favor of Fatal Fumes .
August 4, 2013 10:54 p.m.
I will drop Weapon Surge then, I guess. But don't be surprised if I board it in.a few times.

Oh yeah, i was wondering how does the actual playing against the other deck work? Is it streamed or something?

@Frostblade - Check the front page for notifications. I'll always post articles when the games are going to be streamed, which they will hopefully always be by me, at least.
August 6, 2013 2:23 p.m.
Yep, and I'm going to try to stream from our end also, if I can get the darn sound to work on my program. I don't know if a silent stream will be all that entertaining. Maybe I can compromise and play music or something.

I would personally not drop weapon surge, but I am far from a pro drafter and if that is the general consensus, then so be it!
That being said, when do the matches start? In PST.

NEWS!
Landot and I are aiming to run this thing at 3pm EST on Thursday. I will provide a link when the time is nigh, but my twitch id is trident042 if you want to get over there early and look at my blank twitch account. :)
Man this is exciting. I'm excited.
I'm highly considering putting Weapon Surge back in and saying hashtagYOLO about it - in my tests, it has been way awesome to have with Tajic and friends on the board.
One thing we really didn't consider in the glimmer of our hot bomb picks - Tajic and Master really don't synergize well. Stupid attack alone clause.
August 6, 2013 7:55 p.m.
Jarrheadd0 says... #18
I had noticed that Tajic and Master don't really play nicely together, but the likelihood of drawing both in a game isn't great, and even if we do, you can bet at least one will gett removed. If you really feel the need to include weapon surge, then by all means, do it. It doesn't really bother me any.
August 7, 2013 1:28 a.m.
Timekeeper says... #19
Also, if we have both Tajic and the Master, Tajic can attack while Master defends.
August 7, 2013 1:48 a.m.
TheSeventhNinja says... #20
Not to mention, if we do have both Tajic and Master out, thats GOOD, we're probably going to win the game.
August 7, 2013 7:56 a.m.
Yeah, those are things I've thought while playtesting. Tajic swinging with a battalion while Master hangs back and blocks is good times.
August 7, 2013 6:08 p.m.
Well folks, it's supposedly go time - though we've hit a bit of a snag: Landot doesn't have his cards yet!
However, if he can get them from Caley, the game will go up on http://www.twitch.tv/trident042 - which I will hopefully work the kinks out of shortly.
August 8, 2013 2:54 p.m.
Alright! Officially: Landot got his cards just now, and it's a bit late for either of us to try and get it started right this minute. He's gonna gather his crew and meet us back at the schoolyard come 3pm (eastern) tomorrow and we'll have a proper throwdown.
And since some matches are already coming to a close, next week it appears we can look forward to a game versus RussischerZar (and I will never remember nor properly pronounce that name) so I'll hopefully have news for you there after the coming weekend.
In the meantime, some of you sign up for Twitch and talk to me! Nicky was a good sport but I worry I'll be boring if I'm speaking to dead air. Fortunately, I'm able to duo monitor this bad mamma jamma so I can see the chat as we go. Feel free to shoot me game tips so I can make group-informed decisions!
