Thank you very much, Edric, Spymaster of Trest is indeed a lot better. Not only that it works without counters, it can also be searched with Green Sun's Zenith , and, for the final blow against Bred for the Hunt , supports my teammates in a 2HG game.

Aww... no Calcite Snapper ? Understandable, but lamentable...
In my Simic deck, I like to run Omniscience and Enter the Infinite ... Gyre Sage gets really big in a Simic deck, and while the Omniscience + Enter the Infinite is not the most commonly played win combo, it is fun when I create a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle w/ no real drawbacks. ("Teenage" because I assume that Sakashima's Student is an adolescent.)

Calcite Snapper is mono blue, so it won't work with Green Sun's Zenith . That's why I had to leave it out. I'm actually quite satisfied with the effect that had on the decks name. Flavorwise, the ninja disappearing and a piece of wood appearing in his place is a common cliche, so this deck is reversing that scene.
The rarity of that combo being played might be related to the mana cost of those cards... as cool as it is, it won't work in this deck. Instead of ramping, it relies on low mana costs. No card in this deck needs more than four mana, most of them are cast or put on the field for two. But maybe it will fit in one of my other decks, one with heavy ramping.
I think it's legit to assume that Sakashima's Student is a teenager. Although he/she could easily be 50+ behind that mask. I've had him become a lot of ridiculous "teenage mutant ninja" stuff already, including walls, oozes, giants, hydras, gods and whatnot. I especially liked the mental image of a "Ninja Hydra", since they would need to carry an infinite supply of ninja masks...

I've got to check back more often... Replying after two weeks isn't exactly my style.
@ Aelorith2117 Hehe. In a way, yes. I made an opponent's head become lobster red in a 2HG game last week by copying one of their slivers. He even had the anime-like pulsating veins on his forehead...
@ teslamon Thanks for the upvote. Ninjas rule... and force your opponent to learn the combat rules. Ouch, that pun was horrible...
