On bladed wings the Cloud of Faeries doth rise,
with hundreds of Zephyr Sprites dotting the skies,
Small pricks and cuts shall cloud your sight,
and against your throat lands the Pestermite.

Quick! Brainstorm! Escape these frights!
Alas, you're stalked by Surveilling Sprites,
Mana Leaking your spells causing your mana to tap,
with no summons or instants you surely will Snap.

Damage from Cloud Sprites and Latchkey Faeries may vary,
and you're constantly tapped out by the Silkbind Faerie,
You gasp as you die from an assault so fierce,
Tapped out and washed up by Spellstutter Sprites and Spell Pierce.

DECK DESIGN:

Teeth Fairy Toll is a pauper deck built using only commons. It bullies an opponent with small aggressive creatures to while controlling their ability to cast creatures of their own. It’s been revamped since its first tournament appearance and has shown remarkable control vs other popular pauper decks, especially quick aggro and combo decks.

SYNERGY:

Most of our fae are 1-2 casting cost and it’s quite easy to get 2-3 on the board in short order. Use Mana Leak early on to slow your opponent down, until you have a few creatures. Sigil of Sleep is best cast on Thornwind Faeries, but as long as your opponent can’t block your flyers, it will lock up their summon spells for most of the game. Our biggest weakness is Squall and similar spells that target fliers. Sunken City can help beef up our little guys to help handle a bit of damage, otherwise save your Mana Leak for large scale removal. Distant Melody will refill your hand while you have board advantage.

Our local LGS has houserules that limit cards that were printed as uncommons at any point (this differs from regular pauper rules). Counterspell would replace Mana Leak in a majority of pauper decks and be fully legal.

SIDEBOARD:

When faced with a deck that is prepared for flying removal, add 4 Deprive as well as the additional Sunken Citys. Spire Golem can also help in a pinch, as well as being a better blocker. Unstable Mutation is a sideboard option if you are racing a mirror deck.

BUDGET:

I build every deck under a $100 budget, to be affordable for casual players. While this removes many high priced and sought after cards from my potential pool, it also forces me to be creative and look into a wider scope of cards. Occasionally I have a deck that exceeds this amount, either due to price inflation over time, or a few lucky pulls in packs that I opted to keep, and in those rare cases, I will attempt to annotate replacement options that would bring the deck back in line with this budget.

FEEDBACK:

The deck has fared well in play-testing and isn’t undergoing any tweaks at the moment, however if you have any suggestions, comments, or other feedback, share it below!

Updates Add

With the banning of Cloud of Faeries in pauper, I have updated the deck to use Faerie Miscreant in its place.
