Tehehehe. . . TeHEHEHE. . .
Erm. Sorry about that; welcome! My deck is all about preventing damage / and killing opponent creatures so that in the end I can hit for significant damage. There is a good amount of Scry and Draw to keep the juices flowing.
Phase I: Defense
Omenspeaker
- A 1/3 wall for weenies that allows me to scry for 2 on turn 2. Get the cards I need early. Enough said. Also adds 1 to our blue devotion.
Wall of Frost - A 0/7 wall on Turn 3 for mean creatures that are scary. You want to attack my wall? Well you're not attacking again next turn! Causes the opponent to think twice before attacking (buying me time). Adds 2 to our blue devotion.
Tehehehe. . .
Baleful Eidolon
- The card that in my view makes the deck awesome. Bestow ability on Wall of Frost results in a 1/8 Deathtouch wall. Attack me now biotch. Less impressive but still cool is bestowing
Omenspeaker
for a 2/4 Deathtouch creature that can attack. If you get in early game, you have a cheap Deathtouch creature that can get most things without first strike or flying.
Desecration Demon - Want to send your little birds? Attack my sexy Desecration Demon. You can have him block or sac one of your creatures; both sound good to me.
Mutavault I only have one and it is arguably a defensive card.
Jace, Architect of Thought - +1 ability obviously helps against aggro decks and to minimize damage. His -2 gives us more cards to defend more or begin the offensive. Adds 2 to our blue devotion.
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver - Definitely takes the opponent's attention off of me. +2 to slowly mill out the opponent (keep eyes peeled for creatures you like). -X for creatures that can block and/or attack in Phase II. Adds 1 to our blue devotion.
Dissolve - for when I don't like your spell, much better replacement for Cancel
Far / Away
- 2-for-1 special. Works great against Selesnya token cards like
Advent of the Wurm
. Return token to han-- err graveyard and then sac a creature por favor.
Hero's Downfall - Got Planeswalkers? I don't stinking like them.
Curse of the Swine - For when my opponent has more than one annoying creature. Your creatures are annoying me, but I love and adore Babes.
Cyclonic Rift for when I am still getting my face pounded as a last resort.
Phase II: Draw and Attack
Jace, Architect of Thought - As mentioned earlier, draw cards for -2. Plus, 2 blue devotion will help our beloved Thassa.
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver - As mentioned earlier, steal creatures to have opponent hit him/herself in the face.
Bident of Thassa - underrated card IMO. With cards like
Dimir Keyrune
, Desecration Demon, Thassa, God of the Sea, and AEtherling, that is a crap ton of drawing for no real downside. PLUS, we can cause opponent to attack our Deathtouch walls - ouch. AND 2 devotion to blue!
Dimir Keyrune
- as stated above, acts as unblockable 2 damage that triggers our Bident. Bonus, U/B mana.
Desecration Demon - This card will screw your opponent with tough choices. When they are finally out of creatures, let the massacre begin. Also, draw cards with Bident.
Thassa, God of the Sea - One of our crowned jewels. Scry 1 every turn, make target creatures unblockable for 2 mana, and wait for blue devotion > 5 to have guaranteed 5 damage. The new faster, weaker AEtherling that turns other cards into unblockables triggering our Bident of Thassa for more cards.
AEtherling - Only 1 - just because we can.
TeHEHEHEhe. . . heh. . . wow
Miscellaneous
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - when devotion is over 3 of either color, this card is useful. I only have 1.
SIDEBOARD
1) Against Control:
Take out creature killing instants and sorceries for +1 Duress +2 Thoughtseize +2 Mind Grind +2 Negate +2 Ratchet Bomb +2 Psychic Strike.
The idea is that you play as normal until you have a crap ton of lands (at least 8). Then, check opponent's hand with Thoughtseize or Duress to make sure they have no counters. Mind Grind them!!! A lot of times you will mill out their win conditions this way. Ratchet Bomb will save you against things like Assemble the Legion and Detention Sphere as will your mainboard Cyclonic Rift.
