Planning ahead for Theros Standard. A significant overhaul of my existing budget Izzet Blizt deck.

As before, getting a pumped Nivix Cyclops through to swing at the opponent's face is the main win condition, though now there's also 2x Spellheart Chimera to effectively increase the Nivix Cyclops count to 6 (though I'm tempted to go further, needs playtesting). Guttersnipes and Young Pyromancer give added value to instants and sorceries as they're used.

The sideboard enables the deck to be tweaked to suit matchups against control or aggro strategies. At the moment I can't decide between Steam Augury and Divination in the SB but I'm leaning towards the former as, at worst, it acts as a Chimera enabler. I feel like I should find room for Turn / Burn , Quicken , possibly Triton Tactics and Titan's Strength too, as well as being excited by the possibilities of Swan Song but I'm not sure what I would drop from the main or side to fit them in.

Let's not kid ourselves, Izzet Blitz is not a top tier competition deck, nor is it intended to be, but hopefully this build is good enough to give FNM and Theros GameDay players a run for their money.

Deck and sideboard updated to what I ran at Theros GameDay. Results were very positive and I made the top 8 before being immediately knocked out by a super-$$$ Selesnaya Aggro deck that had too much threat on the board too quickly for me to answer.

I'm considering modifying it further, dropping the 2x Guttersnipe (which I never even played, they're just too slow for this deck and fight with Cyclops and Spellheart on the curve) for at least 2x Curse of the Swine because that will help the deck to deal with the kind of creatures I struggled with on GameDay. I need to test further to figure out whether running 2x Frostburn Weird is a better option than the 2x Goblin Electromancer.
