Because you have ramp, possibly add a single Kruphix, God of Horizons . He is just a fun card to use in conjunction with Mistcutter Hydra , Genesis Hydra , or anyrthing with X cost.

danthek84 That'd be the usual wisdom, but a lot of recent successful Gruul decks have been playing so recklessly with him that they've been running four. Plus, dropping a new one as a replacement can give you another go at Monstrous to clear out new creatures.

I would go the other way around, with 3x Polukranos, World Eater and 2x Kiora, the Crashing Wave . If you wish to make it less complicated or just appreciate an original deck, then check out my
Who needs three drops anyways? (post rotation) Playtest
Standard

I didn't expect everyone to comment at once! XD thanks for all of the suggestions! What do you guys think about switching 1 Polukranos, World Eater for a Polis Crusher in the main? And is there a place for Kruphix, God of Horizons ?

Polis Crusher doesn't seem strong enough to be mainboarded... Jund only runs 3 Polukranos, World Eater so I think 3 is a good number...

+2 Prime Speaker Zegana , -1 Polukranos, World Eater , -1 Prognostic Sphinx ? Being able to refill your hand is super important for midrange decks.

more Prognostic Sphinx man, it is an amazing card especially in this metagame... i would suggest a full 4 copies

Playtested this deck against Orzhov Midrange. The breakdown.Hand Destruction- Brutal against your deck. The Turn one, no Courser, turn two, no Polukranos was rather beast. However, to be fair, your deck drew 3 Polukranos in the game. 1 was discarded, one was exiled, and the third killed the two Lifebane Zombies threat. Of course, you were at two life, but stalled forever. Only when I drew a Hero's Downfall, did I acually stand a Chance. Game 1. Orzhov win, at 1 life.Removal- Just hard to deal with your Polukranos dying so often. Maybe some Ranger's Guile, or something of the sort? Your big stuff, while good, falls to removal, as always. Game 2, however, showed that you could decently handle it. (Of course, Keranos saved your ass, but still.)
Finally, controlling board state. I guess it's rather hard in those colors, but I sat with my BBoV and killed your stuff, gaining 4 life with every attack. Removal? Probably a good idea. Game 3- Orzhov, again, by a hair.
Now, that I must keep in mind that this is a post-rotation deck, and mine isn't, it seems actually rather decent. Watch out for discard decks, however No hand, while it wrecks everyone, really wrecks you.

I noticed a couple things: 1. People can not read, it is marked POST ROTATION and yet people give card suggestions of ones rotating out. 2. I noticed a comment about not running 4 copies of Polukranos, World Eater ....to that person I ask, do you not watch pro circuit tournaments? Are you aware how awesome Polu is in any green deck? and lastly 3. I honestly believe that RUG will be very popular in the meta game both local and pro circuit, I see it having tons of potential. Keep up the awesome work man!

Dathatron: do you think the Stormbreath Dragon 's should be dropped for Prognostic Sphinx 's? Or should the Prophet of Kruphix 's and Xenagos, God of Revels go instead?
Steaditup: bro I love Prime Speaker Zegana , and card advantage would be great but she's rotating out :(

HyperAggroFreak: Thanks for the info bro you're the best! :D you are definitely right in the fact that this deck has no removal (unless Kiora's +1 counts as removal), so I really hope we get another Mizzium Mortars -esc card in Khans. And it seems the only way to beat hand disruption is counterspells, so we'll see if there can be room for some main and/or sideboarded. Thanks again!
DaigarStrasis: Thanks dude! You rock :)

No problem, completely forgot about Kiora's +1 intact. Annoying as hell on my Desecration Demon Anyways, seems like a solid Deck. Although I still think I'm sticking with Orzhov midrange Post rotation. Happy to help!

just curious as to why you decided on main board hammer?
August 25, 2014 4:44 a.m.
Mrlicorice says... #17
thispopsiclestick: I have the hammer in the main because from all the lands from courser and Kiora and all of the mana from the mana dorks, I have a lot of excess lands late game that would be more efficiently used if they were 3/3 bodies. And granting haste isn't terrible either. It is definitely something I would switch out for something new in Khans :)

Alright, I'm back, and this time I used by Naya Sly deck. And sorta destroyed you. Only sort of. Game one, went to Naya Sly quickly. Your deck seemed like it was going off, but a 15-damage swing is kind of painful. In the air. Turn 4 win. Game two, went to Naya Sly, but, was 50% slower. Two Coursers of Kruphix and a Stormbreath Dragon hit the field, slowing me down quite a bit. However, in the end, my flyers got to you.Akroan Skyguard for the win! Anyways, I'm not sure what to make of the Temur deck against an aggro deck. It seems to beat Temur regularly (I beat all the Temur players at my FNM and TNM) However, if you had a card, say, the Green one, that deals damage to flying creatures equal to your devotion to green, would help. Or some plummets. I have posted my Naya Sly deck list, so you can look over it if you'd like. Still strong! Just wrecked by aggro.

What do you guys think of Swan Song being in the main to combat Hero's Downfall , Banishing Light and Thoughtseize ?

I love the RUG wedge so +1! I like your deck too mine is slightly similar to this so I like that too. I just hate how expensive it is just to keep playing standard. Love the deck!

Polukranos is legendary, so i'd go with just 3. In my MGD I play 3 of them, and I frequently get them. So i'd go -1 him, -1 Xenagos, -1 Kiora and -1 Prognostic Sphinx (he's good, but 4 just seems like a bit too much), and +4 Genesis Hydra , he's absolutely amazing, especially since he can get you an uncounterable Planeswalker (or Polukranos, or whatever).

4x Polukranos, World Eater is a big no-no. It's legendary. same with Kiora, the Crashing Wave . I'd run 2 Polukranos and 3 Kiora
