Terrible, just awful. I think it's funny that stupid people just try to throw a bunch of good cards together and post like it's a deck list. Net a list cause you suck at deck building.

MagicPlaya Come on. Being an asshole online is pretty lame. One can only speculate why you are like you are, but im pretty sure its because your dad touched you where you didnt want to be touched, and now you take it out on the magic community? Amirite?

MagicPlaya... well thanks for the constructive feedback... I wonder what your personal life is like to have such a negative response to someone you don't even know. You may be right, but wouldn't have been better to say why you are right in order to help me improve, to actually prove your point through well thought out rhetoric, or even better to have asked why I chose the cards I chose before jumping to conclusions? It must feel very small to view the world the way you do. I'm hoping you are young and still have a lot of growing up to do, and in the mean time take some advice being polite and kind is always better than being hateful. You'll feel better.

MagicPlaya, I'm going to give you a chance to redeem yourself and explain why I chose the cards I chose. Maybe then you can explain in a constructive way why I "suck at deck building" and am a "stupid person that trys to just throw a bunch of good cards together"

I'll start from the top down.

Dragonlord Atarka is my top end finisher and is a great card to ramp in to. Also my deck is light on removal and she helps get rid of pesky rhinos and tapped out ojutai's.

Dragonlord Dromoka because Jeskai Black is a real thing and she does a great job shutting down Ojutai's Command and their aerial assault. She also does a great job making control's job more difficult since their best removal is at sorcery speed and she can't be countered. She isn't so hot against abzan because of Abzan Charm so we bring her out for that match up and bring in both Sagu Mauler.

Woodland Bellower because he comes at my opponent from another angle bringing out Savage Knuckleblade That's 10 power split between two different creatures on T4. This great in any match up but particularly difficult for Abzan and Control. Yes I know sweepers but thats why we have Stubborn Denial. He isn't so hot against Jeskai black because of Ojutai's Command so we bring in both Surrak Dragonclaw to again shut down Ojutai's Command

Dragonlord Ojutai Great resilience, good card advantage and is in the air. Great card against GW megamorph as is every other air creature.

Sarkhan Unbroken because Jeskai black, and GW megamorph decks don't have a ready made answer for him. GW literally has no removal for this guy and Jeskai black's Ojutai's Command misses him. Their removal sweet can't reach him unless they are running Wild Slash in which case I still get my 4/4 dragon which conveniently trades with Dragonlord Ojutai

Woodland Wanderer because he is always casted as a 6/6 in this deck as early as T3. Atarka Red has a hard time overcoming that wall when I have stubborn denial up and I can keep putting on the pressure without losing my defense.

Savage Knuckleblade Serves the same purpose as Woodland Wanderer against Atarka red, is a must answer for Jeskai black which hits the board before they have Ojutai's Command up and misses most of their removal, answers GW megamorph's early game and I can hold back on him alone against control ensuring I don't fall behind in card advantage.

Mantis Rider because it puts pressure on early, holds back on defense while applying pressure for Atarka Red, misses Valorous Stance, Wild Slash and Fiery Impulse early in the game and makes Hangarback Walker feel underwhelming for my opponent.

Beastcaller Savant and Rattleclaw Mystic for ramp/fixing. These two guys along with a lot of playtesting on the mana base (which I believe I have the 85% solution to) ensure I can play both Savage Knuckleblade and Mantis Rider on T3. As it currently stands I miss them about 10% of the time and that is factoring in removal of my mana dorks.

Draconic Roar because it removes 80% of the most relevant threats in the format. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip, Mantis Rider, Deathmist Raptor etc...

Stubborn Denial because it is so good against Atarka red, is almost always online for full value in this deck, shuts down sweeps etc...

This deck attacks from the air, from the ground, has good card advantage and 2 for 1 synergies, fairly consistent mana base, resilient creatures, can apply pressure early, stay late and shine in the midrange.

Now let's talk about the Meta we are facing right now in standard.

GW megamorph and variants. This deck goes over the top in a hard way while still applying pressure on the ground. My creatures are all bigger than theirs so they are trading up for dromoka's command, and mantis rider misses their valorous stances. As a result my creatures get in over the top and take out their Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and the game doesn't go late enough to make the engine that is Den Protector and Deathmist Raptor as relevant. I've played this deck twice now in the new meta and have crushed it 2-0 both times.

Jeskai black is a tougher nut to crack and the deck gets much better post board. However it feels 50/50 G1 and gets closer to 70/30 G2 in my playtesting.

Atarka Red is my toughest match up and that's why so much of my SB is dedicated to slowing it down with Radiant Flames, Feed the Clan and Stubborn Denial

Against control G1 again feels 50/50 to me and gets much better post board with some very resilient answers to counter, spot removal and sweeps.

I've lost the energy to justify the sideboard choices so I'll pass it over to you MagicPlaya. Please provide CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to make the deck better or if you still feel like I've just jammed a bunch of good cards in to a deck that is "just awful" please provide me the counter points to the above justifications to each card in a constructive way. Thanks for the help.

Have you considered adding in Shaman of Forgotten Ways and Kiora, Master of the Depths instead of sarkhan and rattleclaw?

T3, shamanT4, kiora then use here +1 to get 4 mana from shaman and 1 land mana to cast ojutai same turn? Also provides slightly better synergy with woodland wanderer.

Check out my temur deck for some ideas

I really like this deck. I think cutthroat_x has a good point with Shaman of Forgotten Ways in some number not completely replacing Rattleclaw Mystic.

Sarkhan is an absolute beast in this list, and it's a near perfect home for him. I think I'm going to proxy up playtest this a bit over the weekend at the LGS.

I want there to be space for Temur Ascendancy too! :P - Maybe in the sideboard instead of Mastery of the Unseen :/

Strain Agree with Sarkhan being a beast in this deck. He does so well against sweeps, Ojutai's Command and the long game. cutthroat_x I'm considering dropping one Rattleclaw Mystic and a Savage Knuckleblade for 2x Shaman of Forgotten Ways. I don't want to overflood the three drop spot and it is really important to hit a 2 drop against Atarka red. I thought about Kiora, Master of the Depths and the only issue I have with her is that she doesn't lay down an immediate threat. This deck is designed to come at you from all angles to overwhelm your defenses with continued pressure starting at the 3 drop curve. She slows it down a turn from laying a threat. Maybe a good sideboard card though for the long grindy match-ups.

Upvote.

Don't listen to that anyone that says it's awful. I like the deck and have a very similar build that I've managed to pilot to my best successes at fnm (first and equal first) so obviously they don't know what they're talking about.

I use Thunderbreak Regent in place of the Dragonlords, Beastcaller Savant, and Shaman of Forgotten Ways and I use Crater's Claws as a finisher. I do like your point about Dragonlord Dromoka and will definitely look to put her into into my own build. I think if you can, make room for a Thunderbreak Regent or two they have been a powerhouse for me. Though your build is a lot more ramp heavy so I'm not sure. On the same note I highly recommend a pair of Crater's Claws it can burn most anything to death including at times your opponent. As a follow up to Dragonlord Atarka they'd need to steal all three of your Feed the clan to survive.

Also do you find you're getting value out of the Den Protector it feels a bit slow to me and with that many dragons a Haven of the Spirit Dragon should be at least a one of.

I don't know about the Den Protector yet. He is a recent addition for late game recursion hence only two of because I don't want him in my opening hand. I haven't playtested with him yet and it may be that Crater's Claws is just better since the deck is removal light. I thought about Haven of the Spirit Dragon but the problem is if I have it in opening hand it makes it very hard to cast Savage Knuckleblade or Mantis Rider on T3. I'll playtest with one and see how it goes. I actually used to run the Thunderbreak Regent but opted out on those for Mantis Rider hitting earlier and staying back on defense. It has been a big improvement to the deck.

Love the look of the deck! Have you seen the deck tech of Dan Ward's 4 Colour dragons (Temurai) from the pro tour?

I've built his list but am curious as to how yours evolves since it's always better to collaborate with other people when refining decklists.

Your deck would be great to play against with my The Elements Have Fangs deck.

Congratulations on the top8, will be participating in a big tournament Sunday to test mine.

Mind giving some suggestions for my sideboard?

chrizzil I had not seen Dan Ward's deck tech nor his list before I went to states, but it is remarkable how similar the builds are with some obvious differences. Sarkhan Unbroken did a ton of work for me this past weekend and I can not drop him to make room for Icefall Regent and the Dragonlords fill their own rolls against certain matchups. Atarka red pretty much scoops to Dragonlord Dromoka. Dragonlord Ojutai is an amazing card advantage engine and a must kill for my opponent making my continued stream of threats all that much more difficult to deal with after he hits the board. I did like Dan's arguments for Jeskai Charm MB and validated my thoughts on the card after the weekend, not that Crater's Claws was bad in any match up its just that Jeskai Charm has the edge in certain rolls especially with all the fetch lands running around. I'm looking forward to play testing it with the tweaks made in FNM.

I love the Sarkhan Unbroken. I splash red in my sultai midrange build for him and Dragonmaster Outcast. You didn't run into a lock of decks running Ultimate Price and Sultai Charm, I guess. I think I should take my build to a more competitive environment. It would give a lot of the competitive builds fits. I assume rider had been getting there for you. It's like a three cost Lightning Bolt. Unless someone is lucky enough to hit a t4 murderous cut. I like your build. Oh, Bile Blight...b/x decks miss you.

I am testing a Temurai too, but with a slightly different list , using icefall regent and Dromoka command, you could give your opinion?
