Well, for one thing this is a standard deck, so no Avenger of Zendikar. Again, this deck is not trying to be hyper competitive, and the whole point of it is the The Great Aurora + Omnath, Locus of Rage + Suspension Field. I have said this numerous times now.

I like Zendikar Incarnate better as he is another great target for Suspension Field for when I cast the The Great Aurora.

@kengiczar: Somehow I missed your comment. I think I may add some additional Woodland Wanderers

I realize you aren't trying to be competitive, but that doesn't mean you want your deck to be inconsistent. I would much rather have a method in Whisperwood Elemental to stall for my Omnath, Locus of Rage than a Zendikar Incarnate that dies blocking a Deathmist Raptor. Also, comboing with Zendikar Incarnate doesn't really much anyway. But to each their own.

ev003- Zendikar Incarnate is much better if he combos off. it'll likely be a 10/4 as opposed to a 4/4. there are also too many non creature spells in the deck to justify Whisperwood Elemental. you don't want to be manifesting your Suspension Fields or too many of your lands

Personally I would cut the Nissas, and add in Dig Through Time. I also understand your want of the Zendikar Incarnate, but I personally think he is a liability. I think in its place some hard removal or Natural Connection is a good idea. However if you go with more dig, you need to have more basics. That's my whole problem with Nissa, you only have 1 basic forest (because she only searches for basics). Try some dig effects to help you assemble, or some more mana dorks like Rattleclaw Mystic. Other than that, I love Jank Cimbo (I do Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper+Zada, Hedron Grinder+Jeskai Ascendancy and a lot of draw effects (Turn 5 swing for 78dmg :P))

Anyway, those are my thoughts. +1 regardless

@ev003: Whisperwood Elemental also dies blocking Deathmist Raptor. Comboeing with Zendikar Incarnate does quite a bit, actually. It is likely, as tempest said, a 10/4 that can chunk away half their lifetotal with one swing. Whisperwood may stall for a bit, but I'm not actually running that many creatures to manifest with it, so most of the manifests will just be dead cards. That being said, I'm going to test variant running Woodland Wanderer/Whisperwood Elemental over Zendikar Incarnate and see where that gets me.

@Tingettley: I have four Rattleclaw Mystic already :P. I actually forgot that Nissa said basic Forest for some reason. I think I will add more basic forests, because I like her as an alternate win con/distraction. I think I just need to playtest some more, because I don't find myself having the graveyard support for Dig Through Time most of the time, because 27 cards of my deck not counting lands are permanents. I will add Dig, Wanderer, Whisperwood and Natural Connection to the maybeboard.

Wabbbit- Kiora, Master of the Depths can get you the right creatures and more of your lands while filling your graveyard for Dig Through Time. consider upping the count

Is it worth removing cards to add more Kiora just for Dig?

Dig is absolutely worth it.

I think Beastcaller Savant definitely has a place in this list. +1 from me

I'm a huge fan of Omnath myself, so I really appreciate this deck and can't believe I've never thought of such a great combo XD Personally, I feel like you should take out the slow lands and maybe throw in more basic lands and Evolving Wilds instead. Whenever I play tested it, the mana base was really inconsistent so it's hard to get a feel for the deck overall.

I'd also maybe switch out a single Omnath for another landfall creature-he's legendary which makes 4 a bit too much, in my opinion.

In playtesting, getting blue mana was very unreliable. Perhaps consider Prairie Stream?

Really cool and original; +1 without doubt!!

Why no including Oblivion Sower and Crumble to Dust? The latter cripples a high-end deck like "Wedge splashes the 4th colour" and helps the former. If you cast Crumble, then Omnath, and then the Sower, you get at least four 5/5 elementals...

@commander_corn: I have Rattleclaw Mystic, which is the better turn two mana dork in my opinion. I simply don't have room for more, everything in the deck is pretty necessary if you ask me.

@corran_the_jedi: Huh, that's strange. The mana for me has been very reliable, especially with Rattleclaw Mystic. I may remove Lumbering Falls and/or the blighted lands in favor of more basics, as people are suggesting.

@Abubroki: Crumble to Dust is more of a sideboard card, as it doesn't really help the strategy I'm going for. It is a great sideboard card in the meta right now, as it screws most four color decks. Oblivion Sower works well with Omnath, Locus of Rage but in this list I'm pretty much going all out for the The Great Aurora combo. It could be another sideboard card, to move away from focusing on the combo and more towards a standard temur beatdown.

Thank you all for the comments and +1's! Keep'em coming!

I really like the idea of this combo. I think you could have some smaller landfall creatures that you could silk wrap. Grove Rumbler for example.

Wouldn't Omnath, Locus of Rage also be shuffled into your library when you cast The Great Aurora because you technically own it?

November 2, 2015 4:41 p.m.

GarfieldKlon says... #18

@JackAL1070 For this reason you have Suspension Field

November 3, 2015 6:48 a.m.

JackAL1070 says... #19

@GarfieldKlon but even if suspension field is holding Omnath in exile, wouldn't you still shuffle him in because you own him? Great Aurora says shuffle all cards you own, not control... idk maybe I'm thinking too much about it

I'm not the one to ask, but I would imagine since this deck has 5k+ views and you're the first person to mention it that it works :). Usually combos that don't really work get shot down pretty quick on here.

Had a laugh imagining how this deck worked and somewhat playtesting it; Definitely a plus for me! I hope you'll come see the few decks I've been thinking about for this standard, this one would be a solid option.
