Sideboard

This is my first ever "serious" attempt at a non green, blue deck. I decided to pool my cards together and see what I had, this is what ensued. I call it tesco value, because everything is cheap and I like to think that most of the spells have added value, wether it is card draw or direct damage.

I'm on a very tight budget, hence the guildgates, but I feel that it could work to start with, I'll be playing them as the shocks, but for now the are gates.

So far combat tactics and the occasionaly counter helps but cantrips are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! The strategy is to not let your opponent get up to much by either rushing them or straight up trading an average of more than one for one. By this I mean divine diflection is an insane card! What would be a trade becomes a two for one. Banishing Stroke just OWNS! Silent Departure allows for an expensive flasback back but mainly as a not so good usummon, I'm still on the fence.

Someone pointed out that there are a few (many) singletons. With such a a deck as this build, the opponent finds it hard to react correctly. This leads to misplays on their behalf which can only benefit you. If you leave mana open, what could it be? It could be SO many things that they have to calculate the best approach (often incorrect). Also I want cards that will stay around, that take more than just one card to get rid of!

Ladies and Gentlemen I am going shopping. And I'm looking for some bargains!

I went 2 wins and 2 losses. The decks I predicted were creature based, or damage based. I didn't however predict loosing to land based decks. Maze's end (the deck went 4-0) beat me twice in a row. Then I lost to Esper mill...drowyard really sinks your self esteem. The player that I beat was a mirror match trying to win off burning vengeance not guttersnipe. The last player was an inexperienced blue player. From now on I will make sure that I have a mean green land destruction machine at Standard Events.

tata for now
