Why not Tezzeret the Seeker ? Digs for free artifacts to drop them on the field. And only 1 turn off from an ult?
Also, why not try out Ensoul Artifact in here? Could be better for some more indestructible beats?
Then just drop Damnation to wipe the field away and swing away
If you want to abuse Ugin maybe go artifact ramp with Basalt Monolith + Voltaic Key and Tezzeret the Seeker to assemble parts and assist ramping, drop in some Wurmcoil Engines..... hmmm.. my gears are turning now.

Caligula: I have a very good reason not to go the Ensoul Artifact route, which is that it's too easy to pick apart. Abrupt Decay, Nature's Claim etc. all remove it, and it's very easy for my opponent to get a lot of value for their removal that way. Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas does not allow your opponent to deal with your artifact in any way save for Path.
Basalt Monolith + Voltaic Key is hilarious and fun, but at that point, we might as well do a Tron thing. I thought about doing this in tron, and fiddled around with it, but just never really fit.
Tezzeret the Seeker is just too much mana, even for this deck. I play a lot of redundant cards to make sure I can hit the ones I need instead of needing to search for them. I'd love to do a Tezzeret-Seeker thing, but at 5CMC, I just don't see him being worth it.
...Although maybe I -should- do 2x Ensoul Artifact for consistency... hm...
January 4, 2015 7:10 p.m.
Well why not just make it a Tron deck.
It's easy to do, Expedition Map and the likes, You could keep the birds and the likes and just add some things to dig out your pieces. You are running so it's not like it'd be hard to ramp into Ugin and Tezz ;)
You do have a good point about the Ensoul though, It can be fragile, but it does make the opponent play, bait or not, it works to force the opponent to respond to it. Which is how I tend to think.
But something to ponder is that even Affinity lists are running Ensoul Artifact
January 4, 2015 7:19 p.m.
I would not play Ugin unless you put in the Tron lands. Even then, only to experiment. I don't like Dig Through Time here either, you don't have that much guaranteed to go into the graveyard, and it clashes with Goyf. Steel Overseer would be good if you had artifact creatures. As it is, it would pump itself and one, maybe 2, of Tezzeret's toys. Etched Champion is an option, but will never be as strong a threat as Goyf.
The deck seems pretty awesome as is to tell the truth. +1, great deck name.

vault: Lemme swing some hard-hitting questions your way:
Do I -need- Darksteel Relic, you think? This deck would adore a set of Remand, and 2 more Chalice of the Void mainboard certainly wouldn't hurt. (They don't lose their effects when they become creatures.)
Would throwing in 2 more chalice make removal more inconsequential, allowing me to remove the relic? Note that it would make me play a slightly slower game, as relic -does- have a 0 casting cost.
January 4, 2015 8:53 p.m.
I personally don't like Relic. It literally does nothing. It relies on Tezz to be useful, and that's not always a guarantee. That being said, you need enough artifacts to make sure Tezz actually does something. Have you considered MBing the Torpor Orbs? They don't hurt you, they're relatively cheap to cast.

That's a pretty cool idea. I've seen a lot of decks mainboard Relic of Progenitus actually. I just made a change, what do you think?

I took out Mox Opal. It's cute, but really more of a 'win-more' in this deck.
January 4, 2015 9:31 p.m.
I like it. I'm not sure it's the right Sword for you, but I suppose that is meta dependent.

vault: The reason I chose the Sword of Light and Shadow specifically was because lifegain wouldn't hurt (this deck has none otherwise) and Tarmogoyf is possibly the most efficient creature possible to recur. I don't really think the card draw and bolt from Sword of Fire and Ice is desperately needed by comparison. (although it's an amazing sword, no bones about it.)
I don't know why, but the idea of putting Batterskull in this deck makes me uncomfortable. Perhaps it's due to it's high CMC.
January 4, 2015 10:22 p.m.
I don't know about Batterskull either. Perhaps in the SB?
Have you considered Sword of War and Peace? It still provides lifegain, and it has protection from Path and Bolt.
January 4, 2015 10:28 p.m.
I rescind that suggestion. You don't need to worry about Bolt most of the time here. The black removal spells are more effective against you.
You could try SoF&I if your meta is Delver heavy. Gets around Vapor Snag and the like.

And more important, Threads of Disloyalty. Good call. I'll need to test it out with both, methinks. Any thoughts on the SB?

laoshan3337: Thanks for the vote of confidence! :3
Sorry if I don't produce as many publicized decks as a lot of other people, but I tend to try to go for quality over quantity. To a certain degree, every deck I make is a collaboration between me and the rest of the T/O community, so if you have any suggestions, lay em' on me! I can take it >:3
If you have any decks that you'd like me to look at, just let me know and I'd be happy to.

Any critique is welcomed. Thanks in advance! :-D

4 Thirst for Knowledge is a must because it draws cards and two for ones. so is 2 Mox Opal because it ramps easily at no drawback. well it has one which is a lack of artifacts which brings be too Etched Champion which is unblockable removal prone beater, which cant be targeted by tezzerat which is bad but not two bad

Maybe an Ornithopter or two in the main for flying threats? Also, Ensoul Artifact I think is a must, for a 5/5 indestructible or flying creature on turn 2.

Misanthropia says... #21
Wurmcoil Engine, Batterskull looks nice, Maelstrom Pulse seems strictly better than Putrefy.A Krosan Grip in the SB? Academy Ruins makes both Wurmcoil and Batterskull much stronger.
Might want to look at the signets if you need ramp aswell.

FAMOUSWATERMELON, fightman69, Misanthropia as much as it may have seemed like it, I did NOT ignore you guys, and considered your suggestions very carefully. Quite a few of them made it into this update, thanks for the help!

ok so know that you have made this deck four color and added taken out more artifacts i think that Thirst for Knowledge is even more important to dig for artifacts even is you have tezzeret. thirst is basicly a brain storm that discards cards instead of putting them back on top which makes it even better, alot of the time its a brain storm that nets you one card

fightman69: I tried out Thirst, and have huge problems with it. Mainly the fact that it's 3CMC. At the end of the day, comparing it to Brainstorm (at 1CMC), is like comparing Jace Beleren to Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
If Thirst were one, or even 2 cmc, it would be in this deck in a -second.- I love the synergy it provides, but at the end of the day, I do feel that it provides it at too much of a cost.

i understand why you feel like that but i think that if you want to go hard control then you have to play thirst

GlistenerAgent, ChiefBell, Caligula, sylvannos, vault: Thoughts?
Doods I'm considering at the moment:
Steel Overseer, Dig Through Time, Etched Champion.
Thinking of Ugin as well, but we'll see.
