fightman69: Is it really? I've really never had a problem with colors in this deck. I've set it up in color priority as Black -> Green -> Blue ->White. I'll need to take another look at it if the colors aren't cropping up properly, but that's a fairly easy fix.
I'd love to help you with your deck, but upon viewing it, I noticed that it was under a differnet name. Is that the deck you wish me to view?

Maybe you want to run Countersquall, though it's difficult to decide what to cut instead.

antonioelguay: While Countersquall is highly underused, I find, I feel like it'd be more of a sideboard replacement for Negate if anything. I feel like the strain it places on my mana base is not worth the extra 2 life, but that's just my opinion. (The deck is optimized Black -> Green -> Blue -> White)
Right now, I'm thinking of cutting an Abrupt Decay for 1 Spell Snare, but I'm decently happy with the list as-is so far. Don't forget to +1 if you like it!

I think you should cut a color, 4 color tezzeret in modern isn't really competitive.
January 9, 2015 4:11 p.m.
the manabase is all over the place, having 1 of every land is not consistent at all. Sorry for the harshness. I have a bunch of legacy tezzeret decks, but going one of each land for 4 colors is sorta weird. try mana confluence or reflecting pool.

if you draw the misty rainforest with a hand full of tidehollows how are you going to play them?

nated668: Hey man, thanks for dropping by! I'm really curious to know what aspects of this deck seem noncompetitive to you, and how cutting a color would fix that.
I play a lot of 4c Gifts, and at this point, 4 colors is really where my comfort zone is at. (weird, right?) There are a lot of tiny optimizations here (2x Mox Opal, the fact that many creatures in the deck don't need colored mana, Glimmervoid, etc.) that have meant that I've never really had color problems while using it. I believe each color offers something unique and special and powerful.
What would you take out, given the chance?

I'm a little confused as to what you're referring to with the mana base. There are 6 nonland sources of 'any color mana', 2 lands which produce any color mana, and six fetches.
Per your example: With Misty Rainforest I can fetch Temple Garden for white, or Watery Grave or Overgrown Tomb for black in order to play Tidehollow Sculler.

Tezzeret decks use alot of artifacts, ensnaring bridge could be added for control, take out half of the instants and sorcerys and the snapcasters. Play more wurmcoil engines, or batterskulls would be even better cause cost less to cast. Play signets or talismans that create mana instead of the birds of paradise, these are referred to as mana rocks usually and tezz decks love them. In fact you could use artifacts to help with mana fixing so like all these one of mana choices could be eliminated, concentrate on 2-3 core colors for most the deck and splash mana rocks for the 4th color and a few lands. play executioner's capsule and 2-3 engineered explosives, the explosives do the same thing basically as Maelstrom Pulse, alot of the removal is prevalent in most the colors, so you don't need like a path to exile spell and then another equivalent removal in black, try to make it more consistent with color choices of spells so your draws will be smoother. I'd also take out vault skirge and put some other creature that you like, unless you have a way to move counters onto him like with arcbound ravager. Hope that helps a little bit! Good Luck.

Helmerator Altered white added Take a look at my decklist for some clues, its for legacy but similar rules apply across formats.

I play dimir Tezzeret and this deck looks fun. I don't think I, personally, would pay green but I really, really like your inclusion of white. I'll try that out.

nated668: What do you think of the updates? Note that pro-red is extremely strong in the Modern meta atm, hence the inclusion of Vedalken Outlander, whom I feel is a better alternative to Etched Champion in this build. Also note that I was extremely uncomfortable with Esper's lack of ability to destroy artifacts/enchantments, so I splashed a little and optimized for it.
DrFunk27: This deck should be more your speed :3

wait your playing green for one card? also u think that all you creatures being two cmc is bad and that Etched Champion is better

I know what you're trying to do here because I tried it and kept getting wrecked. Streamlining to 3 colors will make this deck rock. If you go UBG you have to play abrupt decay. No questions asked. White is good with path and opens up fantastic SB cards. I like the idea, keep working on it!
Here's my deck. The Walking Tezz 2.0

This is another guy using this guys account. I heard about the last midrange awesome deck. Some friendly advice: Go back to it. Until Sword of The Meek is un-banned (God save us) this deck style will always have trouble.
Thirst for knowledge is also good.
January 11, 2015 7:41 p.m.
Thirst for knowledge is great. Your deck updates are fine, as you playtest it I'm sure you will find some things work better than others. good luck.
January 11, 2015 11:27 p.m.
Since the deck is mostly UW not having a Hallowed Fountain in there seems kind of strange.

also while using the tapped out play testing i noticed that the deck was starved a ton off white green and blue, to help this i would try 1 more Polluted Delta and two more Misty Rainforest
