Modern Win A Box —June 14, 2015

Oops. I don't have the decklist this time. 5c Delver, anyhow. Not Gesper anymore. Forgot to save it before moving onto the newer version.

Match 1: Twin

Game 1 was stolen by a Tarmogoyf backed up with 2 copies of Tribal Flames and a Snapcaster Mage. He might have had the combo but he kept tapping low before passing the turn. Game 2, he Blood Mooned me after I had fetched, shocked, Probed down to 10 life. He hit me once with Exarch and polished me off with 3 Bolts. Game 3 I don't remember too much. I can only remember winning.

Match 2: Grixis Delver

Game 1 was a slugfest with Tasigurs on both sides of the field. I Tribal Flames'ed his, he Terminated mine... I played Goyf, he played another Tasigur... Anyhow, I eventually polished him off with burn and Snapcaster Mage, an MVP with Tribal Flames. Game 2 he was low but hiding behind a wall of fae from Bitterblossom and a Tasigur. I was also low, but managed to put him down to 2 life. Huntmaster of the Fells  ^Flip blocked his Tasigur for a few turns with that wolf token and sniped a few fae, but eventually he died to his own Bitterblossom after taking some shocks from Ravager of the Fells  ^Flip

Match 3: Dem Elves

Game 1 I nearly beat him. However, through poor choice of land to fetch, I was staring down a wall of Elves, had a Tribal Flames and an opponent at 5 life without a swamp. Got overran the following turn. Game 2 I was far too slow due to bad hand and a mulligan to stop the onslaught and so died.

Match 4: TarmoTwin

We decided to draw, but I asked if we could play a few friendly matches so I could learn the deck better because I had just built the deck 2 weeks before. He agreed.

I don't remember much other than losing the three games we played.

Got 4 prize packs, gave 1 to a friend. Immediately opened a Polluted Delta and considered my $12 entry fee to be a success. Bulk in the other 2 packs and I gave them to my friend, who is pretty new to Magic and always happy to get more cards.
