Right, at least liege of the tangle doesn't automatically turn all of them into creatures. I can just imagine a Plague Wind or even just a Wrath of God hitting and all of your lands are gone.

I don't think this is the deck for Domri Rade , I would replace it with a Life from the Loam , if you don't have one it's in the golgari vs izzet duel deck which is a really good buy.

Loam is already in the deck. Or were you thinking Crucible of Worlds ?

Have you considered Storm Cauldron ? Something like that can ramp into Borborygmos and then fling the lands.

@SimplyEDH: that's a wonderful idea I know just what to take out

I clicked on this article expecting 99land and a borobygymos. which would be the best thing ever. +1 anyways

nah...I might make a casual deck that does that

98 land + Snake Umbra.

March 13, 2013 2:03 p.m.

As a serious idea, Illusionist's Bracers doubles Borbo's damage.

I love the snake umbra idea...and I thought bracers was banned in edh

March 13, 2013 2:51 p.m.

Nope, no equipment is banned in EDH. Currently banned cards are: Ancestral Recall, Balance, Biorhythm, Black Lotus, Coalition Victory, Channel, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, Fastbond, Gifts Ungiven, Karakas, Library of Alexandria, Limited Resources, Metalworker, Sundering Titan, Primeval Titan, Mox Pearl (etc), Painter's Servant, Panoptic Mirror, Protean Hulk, Recurring Nightmare, Staff of Domination, Sway of the Stars, Time Vault, Time Walk, Tinker, Tolarian Academy, Upheaval, Yawgmoth's Bargain, Griselbrand, and Worldfire.

Of course, you and your playgroup can decide if you agree with the official ban list or not. If the people you play with don't like Illusionist's Bracers, taking it out will probably lead to more enjoyable games for all.

I might just put it in there now that I know...now the question is what to take out

I know the Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle suggestion was shot down earlier but considering the fact that the cards you have allow for the searching of any color/multiple lands its still a suggestion worth trying, especially since boundless realms could easily win you the game when used with it but even at its worst, one copy doesn't seem like it would hurt too badly. Also it does seem that Domri Rade is out of place in a deck like this, I would consider replacing it. Also for extra shenanigans I would consider adding a Primordial Hydra it seems like it would be amazing in a deck that ramps mana like this.

@cloud1244: I know domri is out of place somewhat but I love how much of a game changer his last ability is so i don't really know what to do with him...also i can try valakut as an additional damage source because it's not completely useless, i liked the original intent the first time but then it was being tossed around as a win con and it's not reliable enough as one...I considered primordial hydra as well but then I found Hydra Omnivore and I thought it was more worth it since I rarely play 1 on 1 EDH games

@theophilus unfortunately i think they changed the rules so that the commander has to deal 21 combat damage to a particular player to kill them. it's no longer just damage overall. though certainly different people choose to play things differently anyway.

huh. well, that makes borborygmos less awesome.

i know what you mean. i run a Brion Stoutarm deck and was pretty bummed to hear about that as well. doesn't mean it can't still be fun though anyway. i'd also consider Jolrael, Empress of Beasts . great to activate her ability whenever anyone plays a board-sweeper. means that someone isn't gonna have very much land afterwards. plus if it comes to it, she can be used on yourself as a last-ditch win effort.

Exploration is a great enchantment for a deck like this(extra land drop during you turn) so you can ramp early into Borborygmos. I'm making a deck similar to this that is RGU, and uses Borborygmos Enraged, Meloku the Clouded Mirror, and Crucible of Worlds. Using Maelstrom Wanderer as my general.

Try tagging card you mention with double brackets like this: [ [Cardname here] ] (but without the spaces in the brackets).

I'm thinking of a Fastbond for casual play because I run another casual deck that uses it as the main strategy and lets me win on turn 1 with the right hand

Freefall is the deck if you wanna check it out

Crucible of Worlds

try using this, then you can use his secondary effect without fear of never getting lands back

Barrel Down Sokenzan to return lands to your hand.

I like it

If you add a Cloudstone Curio you can play a land and bounce one back to your hand. Before you return it tap for mana. That way you get the same turn effect of playing a land and are able to discard them if need be, also is amazing with Oracle of Mul Daya Azusa, Lost but Seeking and all of your etb creatures. Also depending on how Manu lands you have out, you can kill someone with a Scapeshift if the curio is out. Hope this helps, it seems wonky and fun.

This is an amazing deck! It's the best Commander/EDH deck I've come across so far. It's very cohesive and works well! And very fun to play! :p
