I am not a rich man. If I were, I would replace every instance of counterspells in here for Flusterstorm. (A man can dream.) Fortunately, when playing casually with friends who also play casual, the entry fee is rather low.

The story behind this deck is pretty basic. When first starting out I got a bunch of RTR cards. A lot were pretty good and found their way into a deck one way or another, but after that little binge I still had a bunch of leftovers. Mostly Izzet. I cobbled together a rough deck as kind of a joke and went with it. Even though it never won once, (even against other casual decks!) it was surprisingly fun to play. So I stuck with it, tinkered with it, looked up a few cards to go with it (deciding early on I didn't want the decklist to be worth more than 10 bucks to keep to its essential spirit) and the result is what you see before you here. This deck is just fun. It wont always win (green is its worst enemy), but it's a blast to play.

Thunderous Wrath Your only reliable win condition. This deck floundered (albeit amusingly) before I stuck these in here.

Dispel Because when you do land your Thunderous Wrath, the last thing you want is for it to get countered.

Dual Casting You know what's better than casting Thunderous Wrath for its Miracle cost? Doing it again.

Electrickery Evolves from annoying to genuinely problematic from Dual Casting. Keeps your opponent's board clear.

Unsummon Slows Green decks to a crawl, and does the job when Electrickery can't. (Also deals neatly with my friend's Hedron-Field Purists.) ((Needs to be replaced with Vapor Snag.))

Ponder Sets up Thunderous Wrath, cheap card draw, and great with Dual Casting.

Nivmagus Elemental The only creature in this deck tough enough to duke it out with the best green has to offer. Plus swinging for 5 on turn two is pretty sweet. (Really wish I had four Flusterstorms.)

Frostburn Weird Low color cost, great chump blocker, and a solid target for Dual Casting.

Goblin Electromancer Takes some of the pain off casting Thunderous Wrath for not its Miracle cost. Also overloads Electrickery for free and a great target for Dual Casting.

Izzet Staticaster Helps keep your opponent's board clear and deals with pesky tokens. Also fun to flash in for the cheap block.

Mercurial Chemister Keeps this deck alive in the late game. He's slow, but once he gets online he'll be your BFF.

Melek, Izzet Paragon Only in here because I wanted to see how he'd do. Still in here because after three months, I haven't cast him yet.
