Hey there, awesome deck! One problem though, how do you deal with removal? I can see this going against a MBD deck, running into a Bile Blight or a Drown in Sorrow, and your weenies are gone just like that. How do you deal with mass removal?

Well the Judge's Familiar s are in the side board. As well as things like Gods Willing and just the thurmaturge's heroic triggers a hexproof. The weenies aren't the main win cons, but just focusing on saving a core group can win you the game.

I see. I think I'll make something like this except I'll replace some creatures with spell counters. Those boardwipes make playing this a bit of a gamble

It's a bit more on the mana intensive side, but I think the surprise factor makes up for it a little. Hour of Need can be devastating if you play in response to them attacking or something because all you have are 1/1s because suddenly they're all 4/4 flyers that can attack as soon as they end their turn. This also means that assuming you did no damage to them the entire game(incredibly unlikely, idk, draw nothing but lands), you can swing for lethal with 6 mana while 1 Thaumaturge is out, 5 if you have 2.

That being said, if you were to run it, I wouldn't use more than 2 as the surprise factor depends on your opponent being observant(which lets admit, is a little harder when factoring in strive+thaumaturge just by looking at your untapped mana) and knowing your cards.

Another possibility is Curse of the Swine . 2 mana to turn all their creatures into 2/2 boars, and maybe even your 1/1's into 2/2's. Both Curse+Hour also act as protection from spot removal as they exile the target and replace it instead of just changing it into something else.

Yeah I've been playtesting with some of those. I'll see where they end up. =) thanks for the suggestions!

Here's a couple suggestions, some are budget friendly and some are not, you don't have to pick the expensive ones.

1) Precinct Captain He's good value for a 2 mana 2/2 that gets you a weenie every time he hits.

2) Brimaz, King of Oreskos this card is so powerful OMG!

3) Frontline Medic your weenies are indestructible!

4) Brave the Elements to swing for lethal with your weenies (every token you make is white).

Frontline Medic might be good to put in, Same with BTE.

I'll just have to aquire some medic's

Brimaz is awesome, But just a tad to pricey

Me and you seem to think similarly, though I was trying to build a R/W heroic when I saw the spoilers with Launch the Fleet and the good old Thaumaturge, so I decided to quickly put something together.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/wur-weenie/

I have yet to get a hold on the cards, and me and you have taken small steps in different directions, with my addition of red as well as the blue, along with my smaller use of blue to make room for said red.

I wanted to say that I think this is really well put together and I'd love to see how it runs if you get the chance to see it in action. I also wanted to see if you'd give my take on the idea a glance and tell me what you think, how you think mine would play and that sort of thing, since I have yet to put it together.

I like the small changes you've been making to the deck over the past few days. How has Sage of Hours worked so far in play testing? I thought about squeezing him into my theme, but it seems like it would take too long to get him going as we would need to trigger him 5 times to get that extra turn off. Maybe consider dropping him for an extra couple lands? My ERMAHGERD it's THERMATURGE! deck wasn't running very well with less than 23 lands, but it does have more mana intensive instant spells. Kudos to the theme and flavor, I really like what I see.

Launch the Fleet , maybe?

Together with Battlefield Thaumaturge it will be "(W): For each creature you control, put a 1/1 white Soldier creature token onto the battlefield tapped and attacking."

Muchos Gracias SphinxOfChimes1080

I just decided to add it in there. Seemed like everyone was on to something with their recommendation, It's pretty brutal in play testing, As pokemon would put it "It's super effective!"

I think that it is definitely worth splashing a little red for Aurelia's Fury because with a couple of Battlefield Thaumaturge out it gets crazy and with four of them four of artisan of forms as him you can kill someone by targeting three creatures and redirecting the extra damage to the face but even without lots of them it easily can clear the board and it also taps for the win so definitely run it. but also Curse of the Swine plus Launch the Fleet is almost to good to pass up because you get rid any 1/1 soldiers you have that are tapped kill their field of anything bigger than a 2/2 and they you can block them to death. Take out brave the elements it doesn't target anything and while it is nice to have the protection you want this to be a quick kill and targeting heroic creatures will acheive this.

Im pretty sure im gonna make another Thaumaturge deck just based on W/G or W/R. Not sure yet, I'll have to look through.

I COULD try maybe Mana Confluence and cheat red, But i'd rather just keep it twin color.

And im going with Hour of Need over Curse of the Swine ;)

I have sworn off standard but this... This is simply AWESOME!!! Always loved Human tribe decks and this one seems VERY promising. Hat off for this one and +1 from me. Just might get me back into standard.
