I JUUUuuust took out Detention Sphere , Amazing card. I'm just trying to get this deck up to snuff to survive the rotation. Unfortunately making Azorius Charm null.

The only only ONLY card that's getting away with staying in here is Gridlock because it's synergy with this deck is off the charts. Much like Glimpse the Sun God . I'm just praying to Thassa that they put out another card similar in M15.

...But im sure once M15 comes out i'll be making a discard deck after seeing Waste Not

Cyclonic Rift combo with Battlefield Thaumaturge would be good too.

When the 3rd set of a block comes out, don't start panicking and shying away from good cards from the last block. Don't forget; you still have a few months until M15 comes out, and then 3 months after that before the new block rotates RTR out. This is a bad time to buy EXPENSIVE cards from rtr block (Sphinx's Revelation , Domri Rade , Mutavault , ect) but what, $0.5-$1 for some Azorius Charm ? Won't exactly hurt the wallet.

I wanted to try that with my deck, it's got a very similar style to this one being based off of the Battlefield Thaumaturge but Cyclonic Rift only works if you aviod the overload. The overloaded spells no longer target anything, meaning the Heroic function and the Thaumaturge's function both become null when casting overloaded cards.

Curse of the Swine for more Battlefield Thaumaturge shenanigans?

Brave the Elements is good, but it doesn't avoid board wipes like Supreme Verdict when facing control decks. I suggest sideboarding Rootborn Defenses if you find yourself having trouble against Esper control and the like. Other than that, as jchudz said, Curse of the Swine should work very well in this deck, especially against midrange.

Thanks MysticEnvoy and jchudz Curse has been recommended numerous times so I think this time ill put a couple in and test it out to see how it fares!

Glad to see you put the Lagonna-Band Trailblazer in. It's such a good card in so many matchups. Did you take the Hallowed Fountain out just because of Burn/Aggro?

I took the Hallowed Fountain simply for mana balancing, and the 2 damage isn't worth it in my opinion (also I don't own a playset of those lands) and I was just trying to keep in mind the rotation when it happens (even though it's not for a little while)

Yeah the Lagonna-Band Trailblazer is a nice drop for only 1 cost so that was almost a must really.

But i'm sure i'll be playing around with my mana for a while untill I find something that works ;)

Okay, So I wiggled Hour of Need and Vanguard of Brimaz So that should spawn some tokens with Launch the Fleet

Anyone have thought's on Godsend over Detention Sphere ?

detention sphere may be a good sideboard idea however, detention sphere is a more control based card. This means that D-sphere is much slower than godsend. Also godsend is a constant D-sphere and you can only use D-sphere once. If this deck was more control based than overall D-sphere would just be mainboarded. D-sphere is more effective in a jace+elspeth= gg deck
