control and combo is the only way to use this commander effectively. I've played this deck is every version for years. Its gone through all the evolutions. When most people see the commander they are going to assume some kind of control anyway. you have to get the board on lock quick or you just get killed.

I'm surprised that there is no winter orb and similar effects

i played winter orb for a long time, i even had a combo where no one got an upkeep phase so things just stayed tapped forever. what i found is that you get exactly one game with those hijinks before people start holding artifact destruction back specifically for winter orb. it also doesnt help you at all since youre being affected by its shittiness too. either that or after you pull it off one time, everyone at the table targets you and you get hated off the table before you have time to do anything

This is one of the most brilliant stax decks I have ever seen! Bravo! However I would recommend Ghostly Prison.

Combat Calligrapher also encourages infighting among your opponents which is some I think your deck would value greatly.
