Yeah, it sure would. Good thing I already have it in there.

Killing Wave could work well here, and Cartel Aristocrat too for another sac outlet, same with Deathpact Angel , and Immortal Servitude to help with bringing back some of your lower costing creatures.

Killing Wave is perfect for this deck, thanks.I'll have to think about Cartel Aristocrat . More sac outlets is always nice, but I'd rather get a bigger bonus out of it like Blasting Station or Sadistic Hypnotist . Deathpact Angel seems too slow to be worth it. I don't have a ton of low drops so Immortal Servitude isn't amazing.

No Mercy and Shizo, Death's Storehouse and Eiganjo Castle for 1 swamp and 1 plains even if you have a few legendary imho

No Mercy and Shizo, Death's Storehouse both look great for the deck, but Eiganjo Castle doesn't seem worth it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Consider Burnished Hart or Knight of the White Orchid . Depending on your playgroup, you may be able to get away with using them to ramp up without issue. I suggest them or a bit more mana rocks due to the high cost of a few combos.

Kor Cartographer and Solemn Simulacrum already fill that kinda role and I prefer them since they're more consistent.

Merciless Eviction is a powerful wrath that if it resolves can leave players SOL for those times spot removal becomes useless.

Wow, surprised I didn't think of that even though I have it in another deck. Thanks for the suggestion!

Add False Prophet and Magus of the Disk for a creature-based board wipe that can pop back into your hand thanks to Athreos.
November 11, 2014 4:25 p.m.
99% of the time people will take the 3 before letting a board wipe creature return to hand. you also can't target a player who has less than 3 life for Athreos to force them to allow you to bring it back (they aren't a valid target since they can't actually pay the cost).
Overall very cool deck!

With all those sac outlets you could get use out of Academy Rector
December 20, 2014 4:53 p.m.
you could add a Thornbite Staff to your Hell's Caretaker for another infinite sac loop with added ETB effects if you have them

Oh, that'd also give me a win con with any of my token sac loops. I'll have to think about that. Thanks!

Just wanted to say this deck is awesome and kudos to you for it. Just started making a reanimator themed deck with Teysa as well and was looking around for others' ideas, glad I saw this.Playtesting was a blast. +1

Marsh Flitter and Sengir Autocrat go infinite with Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar, my own Teysa deck has pulled sooo many games out of nowhere with a top deck of one of the black token power houses, at minimum a marsh Flitter is 6 sacs with a teysa in play, and Sengir is 8, the value of these two seemingly weak creatures is just huge!! let alone Marsh Flitter being a sac outlet herself
January 26, 2015 3:52 a.m.
"Ashnod's Altar + Nim Deathmantle + Teysa, Orzhov Scion is infinite ETB and death triggers if the creature is black"
Read Nim Deathmantle again. The creature is always going to be black.
Some other fun ways to go infinite:
Teysa + Phyrexian Altar + Nether Traitor
Sun Titan + Animate Dead AND Necromancy (Two out of the three need to be in your graveyard, and you need a sac outlet.)
May 12, 2015 2:31 p.m.
another fun interaction with nim deathmantle is if someone wipes the board with say an Oblivion Stone and you have a lot of mana open, you can use the trigger multiple times to save all of your creatures and you even keep the nim death mantle (this specific scenario came up and we asked our L2 Judge about it)
May 12, 2015 6:11 p.m.
Your L2 judge was wrong.
You DO still get the trigger and can save as many creatures you have mana for, but Nim Deathmantle does NOT save itself from a wipe that hits artifacts.
The trigger exists independently from it's source and would try to equip NDM to the returned creature, but NDM longer exists on the battlefield when the trigger resolves, so nothing gets attached.
May 13, 2015 12:29 p.m.
I mean, I'm more inclined to trust my L2 as he's the Regional coordinator of my area but I'll chat with him again on this to make sure.

- Bitter Ordeal + one of your infinite sac = exile ALL libraries. I use it in my Sharuum deck.
- Vampiric Tutor - great tutor, helps to assemble you combo.
- Sensei's Divining Top - great card for draw and filtering.
- To speed up your deck: Dark Ritual, Mana Crypt, Mox Diamond, Ancient Tomb, City of Brass, City of Traitors, Mana Confluence.
- For protection: Cavern of Souls, Ensnaring Bridge, Crucible of Worlds (+Strip Mine or fetchlands is very powerful).
