This is the first EDH deck that I built, when my friends and I decided to try the format. I really enjoyed playing a Legacy saproling deck a while ago, and Ghave's abilities seemed to have good potential for synergy with other cards that trigger abilities when creatures come into play or go to the graveyard.

The deck combines elves (mostly for mana acceleration), enchantresses for card advantage, and spells that create/pump saproling tokens to kick opponents in the face.

Drawing cards

There are several ways to draw extra cards with this deck. If you have one or more enchantresses in play, Whip Silk and Flickering Ward are both useful, as they can be unsummoned and cast over and over again as long as you have the right mana. Bramble Elemental is a great target for these spells. Likewise, Fecundity with Ghave's abilities allow you to draw one card for 2 colorless mana (by creating a saproling from a counter and sacrificing it to put the counter back on Ghave).

Creature Removal

There are 3 enchantments in the deck that deal specifically with creature removal: Grave Pact, Martyr's Bond and Attrition. With the first two in play, it is very easy to get rid of all opponents' creatures at once by using Ghave's abilities repeatedly to sacrifice creatures. Attrition is more useful if you want to get rid of a specific creature if an opponent has more creatures than you can wipe with Grave Pact or Martyr's Bond.
