Maybeboard

My current Mimeoplasm build. Here for reference and adjustment.

This deck accrues a great deal of value as it attempts to wrest control from the table, then wins through the various lethal combinations that The Mimeoplasm can take.

Some things that should be considered when commenting on this deck:

No infinite combos is an important goal of mine. One of my EDH playgroups essentially dissolved into an infinite combo arms race, and I am trying to teach new players in my group that such things lead to very expensive, very boring decks.

There are some cards of which I don't approve. Not really feeling like compiling a list, but if they are brought up I will politely decline that suggestion.

Other than that, I'm pretty open to ideas, and I really like skill intensive metagames, so improving the deck is a constant goal of mine. A previous iteration of this deck won an eight player game at 1 life and 4 cards in deck, and I consider that one of the best games it's ever had.

Thoughts

4CMC critters for the Pod Curve: This section has improved with the addition of Meren of Clan Nel Toth, but it's still between her and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, and the occasional Graveborn Muse and in addition, the stress of this area of the curve has been somewhat altered, as to get the effect of fetching a Prophet of Kruphix is now split between Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (if and when he returns to the deck. See Bad Mood Update below.) and Seedborn Muse, meaning that value at 4 is really important. Ideas are appreciated. Suggestions for this area: Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Mystic Snake, Notion Thief, Thought-Knot Seer

See the Unwritten: Mill 6-8 cards, grabbing up to two critters out of it and tossing them on the table? Seems solid. Cuts are hard, though.

Wretched Confluence: Mystic Confluence has been a solid addition. Perhaps Wretched could also be of some use?

Updates Add

So, it occurred to me the other day looking at some opening hands, this deck stopped having an early game altogether, and I had not resolved the Kokusho, the Evening Star loop since Prophet of Kruphix got banned. So, I have started a basic retool of the deck in order to smooth out its gameplan.

Reverted Sylvan Safekeeper back to Deathrite Shaman I basically never used it and I'm adding Leovold, Emissary of Trest to the deck, so hopefully we'll see some value from that.

Phyrexian Metamorph has been a solid card, but it does not play nice with Living Deathfoil. As such, I've decided to try Snapcaster Mage, as I have had one since the original Innistrad but had not found a home for it.

Grim Flayer is going in Kokusho's spot, in order to smooth out my gameplan, both in terms of his abilities and his spot on the mana curve.

I haven't recalled a recent time I've been able to use Soul of New Phyrexia for value. If it did something to stop things from being removed in ways other than destroyed (which of course next to no cards do that) it would be staying, but this deck uses the grave as a resource, so having its stuff blown up is not much of a hindrance overall. Sphinx of the Final Word will force through my powerful spells as well as function as an evasive hexproof body for The Mimeoplasm.

Future updates will be keeping this in mind, and also working towards bringing focus to this deck, as it has gone a bit afield.
