I had a version of this that used Suture Priest and things like Promise of Bunrei instead of the Hero of Bladehold worked by just locking down the game with chumps and gaining off it.

I am interested in getting into a deck like this for modern since im on a budget. I played Aristocrats in standard and really liked it. I found Falkenrath Aristocrat to be very effective.
Is there a reason you arent running red? Budget or other? I thought about making a BWR version similar to the standard version with better support spells like path to exile and others. Would you recommend going down this road?
Just a thought, Cry of Contrition seems a bit fragile in modern. You could haunt a creature but it could easily get exiled or bounced. The upside is 2 cards get discarded. But the upside of something different like Inquisition would be that you get to choose which card they have to discard.

It certainly does not suck. It just needs more cards that benefit you when creatures go to graveyard. I would suggest Cry of Contrition Sun's Bounty etc.
