@IsatisSnowfox There is a sideboard guide in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the deck description.

http://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/330735#paper What do you think of this? Just went 6-2 in the Protour. Only thing I don't like about it is using Carrier Thrall over Sultai Emissary and maybe having 4 4 drops and 4 hangarback walkers with coco.

@dacamell I watched the match where Nassif played that deck against Frank Karsten, and I was very impressed by ow it performed for him. Although it does seem weird running 4 Hangarback Walker with Collected Company, Hangarback is basically the best sacrifice fodder in the format so it's kind of an auto-include. I think that in a deck with no Abzan Ascendancy, Carrier Thrall is just a more aggressive version of Sultai Emissary so I'm sure that's why it made the cut. I like Gabriel's list, but I don't think it's perfect (mostly because you can only hit 19 creatures with CoCo) and I'm going to stick with my 4-color list because I find it so fun.

I'd recommend carving out room in your mana base for a single basic mountain. Even if you're not playing red spells until turn three or four, it can be important in opening hands with multiple R/x fetchlands so that you're not stuck fetching tapped battlelands on turn 1 and 2. In matchups where you board in rending volley this is even more important so that you can easily cap a turn 2 Jace or turn 3 Mantis Rider. Otherwise the list looks pretty awesome!

@Krhaynes1 Thanks, I think!

@RagingBuddha you're probably right. The reason I don't have one now is just that it really doesn't cast too many cards in this deck. However, you make a valid point that the sideboard probably requires that I have a Mountain in here. I'll find a spot. Maybe it will replace a Swamp or one of the Sandsteppe Citadels.

I absolutely love this deck my man. I've been following a lot of aristocrat builds lately, and yours is my favorite by far up to this point. I'll be playing this deck at the Indy GP on Halloween weekend. Who should I accredit this build to on my deck reg sheet?

@ContractK I'm glad you like the deck so much! I will warn you that it might change slightly between now and then, but you can just check back here every once in a while if you want to see what I've done with it. Mostly I just expect to do some more work on the mana base. I've had no problems with it in its current state, but I'm kind of an obsessive deckbuilder so I may make some tweaks here and there to try and make it even better.

I wish you the best of luck in your tournament, and I'd like to get a report on how you did after it's over if you do end up playing this deck. I'll probably tune in and watch some of it, maybe I'll see you in the feature match area ;). As for who to give credit to in the deck register sheet, If you're really feeling generous enough to give me credit you can just put down TheFanatic. I'm just an anonymous internet person who wants to build cool decks, so that's good enough for me!

With the addition of red how about Pia and Kiran Nalaar?

October 20, 2015 12:58 p.m.

TheFanatic says... #11

@iCryEryTime Unfortunately, the RR in its mana cost makes Pia and Kiran Nalaar too hard to cast in this deck. It would be pretty sweet, though, if I had room and could support it. Seems like a good choice for a Mardu version as a 1-of or something.

Then TheFanatic it is my man. I'll keep in touch regularly (including a post GP report), and thanks for the good luck!

@IsatisSnowfox Glad to hear that the deck served you well! I made some small, last-minute changes before my Game Day today and ended up winning the event! I'm very happy with the current list and how it performed.

How relevant was vampiric rites when boarding? Did you find it beneficial in a specific match up?

do you think sorin is needed as a 1 off...+1 on the deck i really like this

October 25, 2015 5:17 p.m.

TheFanatic says... #17

@Bardzzz I wouldn't say that Sorin, Solemn Visitor is needed, per se, but it really does pack a punch in this kind of "go wide" strategy with a lot of tokens. It also helps race decks like Atarka Red.

Underperformed for me. Beats crappy decks in minutes, but couldn't hold up against anything with removal.

October 26, 2015 12:02 a.m.

TheFanatic says... #19

@davbry2011 Sorry to hear that. I haven't had the same results. This certainly isn't a tier 1 deck, though, if that's what you were looking for. Not sure what you mean by "couldn't hold up against anything with removal", this deck is pretty good at blanking removal spells.

davbry2011 says... #20

If you mean sacrificing before the spell hits, then this deck worked well. But a lot of times you need a creature to stay for a little while. On the other hand, my local gameshop seems to have people who favor control decks that aren't any fun and just wait till you can't do anything and then they kill you. It creates a very unpleasant atmosphere. I will say that the ones who weren't running control, this deck ran over them.

October 26, 2015 2:49 p.m.

TheFanatic says... #21

@davbry2011 I meant it more in the sense that most of the creatures in this deck are innately resistant to removal, e.g. Sultai Emissary, Blisterpod, and Hangarback Walker. Abzan Ascendancy and Evolutionary Leap both make everything look better against removal. If what you mean is that multiple board wipes can be a problem, I would have to agree. However, that's the case for any creature deck.

I recommend 4 Grim Haruspex great against that bad control match up and other heavy removal decks plus great with caracomb sifters to fix card draws

kingdom2468 says... #23

What do you think about adding Gideon, Ally of Zendikar to the deck?

October 27, 2015 4:57 p.m.

TheFanatic says... #24

@realmwalker Grim Haruspex is definitely a great card, but I don't think I really have room for it at the moment and this deck is already great against heavy removal decks.

@kingdom2468 I've thought about it, but the in his mana cost is pretty prohibitive, not to mention his monetary cost. Besides, there's not really room for more 4 drops here.

What about Liliana, Heretical Healer? I feel like it would synergize with the deck quite a bit, considering her effects provide sac-ees like a machine.
