I kind of wanted a more-or-less pure Equipment deck. Several of my decks run a solidly-sized suite of equipment, but I wouldn't call any of them an "Equipment deck". Just for fun, I want to make this a bit of an Assassin's Creed theme deck. I like the series well enough and I bought some of the cards and a few packs.

I also think that Eivor, Battle-Readyfoil is underrated. Not amazing, but underrated. Saw some folks online shit-talking her so I'm gonna prove everyone (partially) wrong with a budget-ish deck I built on a whim! I think her groupslug ability is just what a creature-heavy Equipment deck needs to get across the finish line and get some wins.


I wanted to include lots of cheap-but-decent Equipment and utility equipment--like Greatsword of Tyr, Bladed Pinions, Bonesplitter, and stuff like that--but I'm finding that I have more than enough "staple" equipment and Assassin's Creed equipment to fill out the deck. Too much, even. I was aiming for twenty to twenty-five equipment. More than that seems sus, but I don't know. Having good card-draw should also functionally raise my equipment count. A few tutors add to the pseudo-Equipment count, too.

I also want to include a good amount of legendary equipment for Kassandra, Eagle Bearer's ability. She's kind of the alternate commander. Plus, they are some of the best equipment anyway.

Trying to squeeze in Lifelink equipment for Eivor's ability, since she's doing the damage herself.

I'm trying to balance creatures vs equipment, and my removal has ended up kinda low. I want to make sure that I have a decent creature count because the commander is 5CMC and I don't want to get run over. The Equipment Creatures are part of that strategy. I also want to include a bunch of the good equipment-utility creatures, like Akiri, Fearless Voyager and Bruenor Battlehammer. Turns out there are a lot of them, so my creature count was basically full before I was able to add creatures that specifically carry equipment well. I think the Assassin's Creed flavor cards have bumped them out. Many of them are my card-draw sources, so they pretty much have to stay.

The original plan was to also to include red group-slug elements, to compliment the commander's damage ability. I quite quickly ran out of room for that. I'll try to add more as I find bad cards that I want to cut.
