v 2.0 Zurgo Voltron Midrange.-Beatdown

I am the Khan of my Horde. Indestructible is my body and Haste is my blood. I have dealt over a thousand commander damage. Not known to death, not known to 'wipes, have cast spells to attack many times. I have double damage. I have double strike. My whole turn is Unlimited Orc Works

Primary win con: Zurgo Helmsmasher + red zone. Zurgo easily pays out massive amounts of commander damage. However, the deck has some tricks up its sleeve. The Sunforger package gives lots of answers, and several cards can "hack" the combat phase, allowing you to manipulate blocking. In the late game, the angels can swing the tide of battle.

BeatersThe bread and butter of the deck. The commander himself is a beater. Big creatures for big damage. Some have

Combat HacksThese cards are designed to make combat phases extremely deadly for your opponents. They consist of manipulating damage, blockers, and generally making life difficult for your opponents when the war cry is up.

Mana AccelerationThese colors are notoriously poor in mana acceleration, so the accel suite comes from artifacts. The addition of Sword of the Animist to the equipment suite is very welcome.

BuffsStrictly speaking, Zurgo is already a very beefy threat that can keep on growing. However, sometimes you just want an extra kick to make sure your opponent is dead. The equipment in this deck is mostly meant to allow Zurgo to get his damage through, but Cranial Plating can increase his damage potential dramatically. Other buff spells such as Temur Battle Rage and Boros Charm give double strike and can be tutored by Sunforger. Godsend is primarily a control piece, but that extra 3 damage is welcome.

ControlMardu has the best removal in the game, since it has access to spells that can destroy any type of permanent. However, I tried to keep them either white or red, as these can be tutored by Sunforger.

UtilityMardu is poor on card advantage, so this deck uses tutors, especially for equipment.

SunforgerThe Sunforger is a powerful equipment that doubles as a hefty buff (+4/+0!) and also as a panic button for removal. Incredibly good.

Changelog:

v 2.0: Swapped out most of the Dash cards for more late game beefy creatures, such as Butcher Orgg and Grave Titan. Basandra, Battle Seraph is a controversial legendary creature in EDH. Since Boros is mostly associated with combat tricks, most players assume that it's better to not run her since she gimps some important answers (ie, Sunforger) that are exclusive to Boros. However, she also stops annoying combat neutralizers such as AEtherspouts, and Azorius Charm. Since your opponent can't cast them when you aren't attacking, they're rendered pretty much useless. On the other hand, the cards that you WANT to cast on an opponent's turn (Delirium, for example) can be cast during his pre-combat main instead.
