Great deck!! This is amazing! The biggest problem is the mana-base in my opinion. You will get the wrong types of mana often. I think Blackcleave Cliffs would be a good card for this deck and it is also not too expensive.

Frestho This was a Standard deck that only worked for the competitive environment between Return to Ravnica and Theros Blocks. If you're just playing casually the deck might still hold up, but it's not powerful enough to run in a modern environment when you could be running Wild Nacatl and Tarmogoyf.
so your suggestion of Blackcleave Cliffs is fine if you're playing with friends, but doesn't work in the original Standard setting this deck was designed for and is not strong enough for competitive modern.

Better yet, change it to Modern and then make a new one for Standard in the spirit of this theme.

I agree with the folks above - I ran this back when it was legal in Standard for a while, and it was awesome. I'd love to see a sequel for the current sets.

Not to take anything away from this great list, but I did find one that is standard legal as of Aether Revolt: Pia's Recycling Facility! (Budget Combo $50)
