Ok. So I really tried to design this deck to have lots of combos all gearing towards ramping up creatures with counters.
Servant of the Scale is a great One drop that already puts counters on the board and in combination with a turn one Hardened Scales its a 2/2 for One. Get two out on Turn 2 and an Avatar of the Resolute on Turn 3 and you've got a 6/5 trampler dropped for 2.
Another great starter is Hardened Scales Turn 1, Servant of the Scale and Cenn's Tactician on Turn 2. On Turn 3 another Forest, tap Cenn's Tactician for two +1/+1 counters on itself. Then play Avatar of the Resolute coming in as a 6/5 trampler for 2 but now you got blockers for up to 4 attackers. Then on Turn 5 its Gleam of Authority enchanting the Avatar for a +4/+4 making it a 10/9 trampler. And even if they try to bum-rush you between turns 4 and 5. Block with Servant of the Scale, move the counters to Cenn's Tactition, and everything turns out the same for old Avatar of the Resolute.
And lets not forget Gleam of Authority's other benefits. This is the card that really made me want to make this deck. Not only does is work well with Phalanx Leader (converting his ability into power and toughness) but it also helps keep Mikaeus from dropping too low in the old P/T (keeping him out of burn rang)
For later game play Phalanx Leader and Thrive, in combination with even just one Hardened Scales can throw on four +1/+1 counters on your creatures (if you can cover their Thrive cost of course).
Then there is also Champion of Lambholt. You get her out there on a Turn 3 with two Servant of the Scale and a Hardened Scale form Turn 1 on the board. Then you throw Gleam of Authority on her and soon enough you've got all the lanes wide open. Use Thrive or Bioshift to keep her P/T up and you should come out on top.
Also, when you are playing with creatures stacked with counters the value of Bioshift can't be expressed enough. Heck a move I like to do is swing with Avatar of the Resolute and then once blockers are declared I swipe all the counters off of my Phalanx Leader and put them on the Avatar. Then that will trigger Phalanx Leader's ability, putting another one or more counters on all my other creatures (depending on how many hardened scales I have out) Plus, if in that same move I have Gleam of Authority on Avatar of the Resolute, who knows what could happen.
And finally there is Kalonian Hydra. We all know what this guy could mean on a turn six when one or even two creatures are already Enchanted with Gleam of Authority.
I know there are probably a few scenarios I have left out but I'm sure you can figure them out better than I . Give me some good feedback.
Thanks.
