Lotus Cobra is mythic because not only is it a triggered ability vs. activated ability, but its also one mana of any color which makes it a great card in any 3-5 color deck.. Heres the thing- when you have this card in play and run fetch lands you are adding 3 mana to your mana pool effectively.

plus even more land fall in this deck its amazing. i can easily spend 2 mana to get it out and then cause enough land fall that it pays for itself that turn and more.

and there is a test version of this deck im working on this will soon be updated

i have ,but the lands power up reliquary and that costs three mana so instead i run Oboro, Palace in the Clouds . This allows me to get my landfall/falls every turn.

Maybe Prismatic Omen instead of Adventuring Gear? Just for the Scapeshift flavor. ;)

I do actualy like that idea i'm thinking of maybe removing the creature buffing concept from the deck and focusing more towards a valakut scapeshift idea.

i have in the past decided not to. but now im running life's legacy and often getting 12 crad hands so it could work pretty well now. thanks for the suggestion.

How does the valakut-prismatic omen combo work for you? I feel like it doesn't happen very often. Or does it? If it works, then great, but if it's kind of a pain, maybe take it out for a removal package or something :)

hmmm that might be a good idea. seriously Thanks for the suggestion. in the experimental version im testing i run Wargates to tutor for prismatic omen or Realmwright ,but yes in this it has a tendency not to happen ,but if i do get the card prismatic omen then i have access to the true scapeshift combo which can kill for me if i put removal in that spot id have removal instead of a wincon and i quite often get scapeshift My deck very agressively thins itself more so than other decks with all the land fall happening. so my odds of getting things are increased but yeah it doesn't happen often which makes that one valakut somewhat useless most games if i do draw it.

Honestly all you really need for win con's is knight of the reliquary and on nixilis. Those two could easily close out a game. The steppe lynx can get some nice early damage to keep the pressure on, and the coursers will keep you in the game until you win. How does Adventuring Gear work for you? I feel like it's a bit slow for this deck. Maybe take those and the valakut/omen package out for some control cards like Abrupt Decay and Path to Exile path would be great. If you really need that extra landfall trigger, you can path one of your own guys for it

ok well I agree it needs removal but steppe lynd is very much a Win con as well as the adventuring gear turn 4 it can do 16 damage with pro if you play a land and use scape saccing a flagstones on field and three other lands searching for three flags and one sejiri. this is usually a kill shot as ive done damage already. and if I have an adventuring gear out there its double damage so those cards lynx and gear are major wincons killing people easily with just scape or even the other landfall sources in the deck.

I think you're right though I should remove omen valakut for some removal.and maybe decrease the number of a few other cards to stick removal in there. but yeah the lynx and gear are quite amazing in deck consistently 6/6 creature at least usually bigger and quite often I can get my lynx or another creature to 20/20 quicker than getting ob out.

Yeah, there's no doubt the lynx and the gear can get work done. I'm thinking taking out the valakut, the omens, and a gear for 4 abrupt decays, and the two primal commands for 2 path to exile. Before you take the command out, how is it doing?

I am agreeing with you quite a bit actually i will implement the changes.I'll need to reenginner the mana base a bit to have consistent access to black early game though. if i run abrupt decays. which isnt an issue, there used to be more black mana source in this deck.

seriously thankyou for the suggestions.

the primal command well that is bassically in there to have four obnixes in the deck without actually having four obnixes.it does alright in getting me the winning pieces while doing something else to stall. ,but its not very essential to the deck.

For how its doing well its nice when i get it but not amazing. although im more leaning towards taking out ruin ghost even though he has great interactions with other cards in the deck it sometimes just isnt that great

and the cavern of lost souls im not likeing that very much my creature types are rather dispersed so itd only be colored mana for one creature. so itd be a hindrance mana wise and im also trying to keep as much land in plains(mostly plains) or forests for reliquary, trokair, and fetches to retrieve.

Yeah, those changes seem solid. I like what you did to the mana base. And for the primal commands, you have so much deck thinning, you'll draw it eventually, there's no doubt in that. And the black mana concern, you can always fetch urborg with reliquary, so I don't think that would be much of a problem. And for the caverns, I was thinking they'd be more sideboard. If you're up against a control deck, you can have all the ramp you want, if they deny your creatures, you lose. You could even run the true scapeshift combo in the sideboard to surprise your opponent too ;)

Although I feel 27 lands is a bit too much. I liked it at 26 or 25. Maybe cut the arena and a godless shrine for two decays? Your windswept heath can fetch for your single shrine, and reliquary can fetch the urborg if you need it what do you think?

so I like the side board idea any others I mean the side board obviously needs work. im thinking maybe an array of lands for rel to use. wall of reverence as anti burn/ aggro.. scape combo and im not sure what else to put in.lol

this is what i came up with as a sideboard. 2x Boseiju, Who Shelters All2x Cavern of Souls1x Crucible of Worlds1x Ethersworn Canonist3x Grazing Gladehart1x Stony Silence4x Thoughtseize1x Thrun, the Last Troll

In my opinion, your biggest weakness is removal. although you have the instant speed sejiri steppe, it might not always be availabe. so that's why i put the 4x thoughtseize in there. to get rid of removal, and counterspells. i also put in the caverns to help against control. as is with thrun. thrun's just a beast to not have in here. Stony Silence for affinity, and the crucible in case they start destroying your lands, or you're up against a deck that doesn't run too many basics, and you can have a ghost quarter/crucible lock. The one card i really think has a place in the deck, that idk where to put it is Summer Bloom i want to put this in the maindeck, but idk what to cut. what do you think?

hmm i definitely like that side board idea. the only card im really questioning however is glade heart my problem against burn is they ussually try to burn my creatures and glade heart is definitely within burn range.So they would often burn it before it gains life. it'd be nice to have something else like kruphix a little life gain and out of bolt range,but not as expensive as wall of reverence. i'm also questioning the ethersworn if you are intending it as counter fighting i think Vexing Shusher might be better in this deck. And i also saw this card in another deck somewhat similar to mine Valorous Stance i kinda like the idea being threat removal and protection at the same time

As for summers bloom i've definitely considered it still am. I think naturally if i put it in it should maybe replace azusa. Azusa is a great card for the deck ,but there are many many situations where i only need her out one turn to do the landfall combo off of Oboro, Palace in the Clouds being able to repeat that combo turn after turn is the only reason to have her instead of bloom i just ussually don't need to.

blooms advantage over azusa are lower cmc more land fall. so better ramp. more scenarios where i can make use of it over azusa.

You are making some good suggestions sir.

I'm very interested in this deck :P i like thinking outside of the box, and I honestly hate the current modern meta. I just played a game with this deck against this weird uwr midrange deck that didnt run as many counterspells, but ran alot of removal.

My observations are:1) this deck is great2) It's fun to pilot3) Steppe lynx is OP as shit4) your deck gets wrecked by removal5)it runs out of gas easy6) oboro/azusa combo is OP in combination of something else7) the land base needs a bit of tweaking.

i originally was only running 1 godless shrine, so i bumped it up to 2 and after that i was fine. that's pretty much it for land concerns. i was also running 4 abrupt decays, which didnt help me out at all in the control matchup, so i sided them out for thoughtseize, which did wonders. I think you should add 1 ob nixilis in exchange of an adventuring gear. what do you think?
