Have you thought about using Simic Fluxmage? It's a little slow but it seems like it could make sure your attacking creatures will come back if they die.

i'd suggest Kher Keep to create tokens for sacrifice, also seems like proliferate effects would work here?

@FridayNightShift Tokens can't come back, similarly proliferate requires a board presence to be maintained. This deck succeeds when the board is getting trashed and creatures are slipping off for a dirt nap and coming back on a delayed trigger.

Unspeakable Symbol is a must-have here.
Love the deck, +1!

I did have it in here dragon_slayer. I find graft creatures are better.

I would strongly consider putting it back in. With Marchesa, the Black Rose out, it acts as instant protection for any creature for the measly cost of 3 life. When you start with 40 life, 3 life shouldn't be a problem. It also enables dethrone for more counters.

I found the opposite to be true dragon_slayer, my mates all attack me anyway, so it's more like i start on 10 life.

What are your thoughts on Mob Rule for mass creature theft? Obviously not something you use early on because it makes you the villain for the whole table, but it could be the finishing blow when combined with Marchesa.

@Omeros prefer Insurrection, as it takes all creatures, combined with a sac outlet and dethrone, it's a gg.

This is funny. I saw this deck pop up, thought "I haven't seen that one for awhile, let's look at the list," and then thought "he needs Flayer of the Hatebound," only to realize Id already suggested it going on three years ago.
Flayer is probably still relevant, since it doesn't have to be used as a combo with Living Death. Is that the card you took out?

@MindAblaze haha, I've had flayer in here for ages, but i've taken out a lot of my original creatures for the modular creatures, which work really well here.

I can see that they would. I think somewhere deep down I'm a burn-style player, so the damage tacked on every time your deck does what it wants to do tickles me the right way.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed Unspeakable Symbol and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon because why not? Haha EVERY deck and use more skittles!
(Not sure if any of these have been recommended yet, didn't read through the whole thread aha). Hope this helps! I'm currently running an infect deck with Marchesa at the head, going to cannibalize it soon to go back to the arcbound theme

thanks for the suggestions GhostRunner. I used to have mike and the symbol in here but they've both been cut. I wouldn't use skittles because infect is frowned upon in my meta.

@Naksu if you think she's a scary commander, just look at this deck.

I know the comment is 3 years ago and black Mike is no longer in the deck so it's not really relevant, but I want to mention you said a while back that Mikaeus and Marchesa protect eachother, but that's not exactly the case as Marchesa is a human and Mikaeus doesn't give humans undying.

@TheDoctor178 I don't remember saying that, and yes quite clearly do not.

No Sage of Fables? I have a very similar Marchesa build, but it is more casual and heavily artifact oriented: Durdlebots 2: Extruder Alarm. Nice to see another Marchesa deck that isn't run-of-the-mill :)

@_Sinistar_ I considered a similar card that countered spells when it entered the battlefield, problem is that marchesa reanimates at the end of turn when there is nothing to copy or counter.
