This is my second standard deck, but the first one i built to actually play at Friday Night magic on a regular basis. Any and all suggestions would be welcome.
Mostly a typical Mono-black aggro i decided to tweak it to my own style over the course of the last few months. It originally ran a full playset of Thoughtseize and two Duress with more kill spells in it providing effective results, but i decided to run a bit more creature heavy upping the original count of 18 to 30 till it evolved into this form currently.
I removed three
agent of fates
and one Nightveil Specter to add in four
Leeching Sliver
to provide another
Spiteful Returned
effect that increases. With all four all the field at the same time you can swing for 16 damage prior to battle before adding in the
Spiteful Returned
and any other damage you add from combat.
Blood Scrivener I choose this card for several reasons over
Pain Seer
biggest reason is with all three of them on the field and no cards in hand i lose 3 life and draw four cards, but with
Pain Seer
i have the chance to run 3 and draw three cards with 3cmc losing me 9 life. In addition to that when i first put this deck together i was unable to get a hold of the final

i needed at the time though since i have collected them and have decided to wait till rotation to switch them out.

I feel this card is really great except for coming into play tapped. I also love the heroic effect regardless of it being normally useless. Using bestow really helps counter some of the damage i have taken by not blocking or using the Thoughtseize on top of giving your opponent that extra bit of damage.

These two cards are very similar in my mind and i wanted them both in my black deck for the additional damage. Currently I'm seeing
Spiteful Returned
as a bit weaker due to it being an enchantment creature, but for now it does not seem to be directly killed for being one.
Nightveil Specter I prefer this for it's devotion factor over
Herald of Torment
in addition to it's unique ability. The devotion helps when i play Mogis's Marauder to make sure everything has haste and intimidate not nearly as important till after i sideboard Phyrexian Revoker though.
Mogis's Marauder Black devotion that gives everything haste and intimidate. I love playing this one turn after another.
Boon of Erebos Heroic trigger is a bonus, but i original intended it to work against supreme verdict or give me the extra damage to finish them off.
Rogue's Passage Adding a unblockable factor into my deck if i'm not drawing Mogis's Marauder when i need him.
Phyrexian Revoker

Pithing Needle
Phyrexian Revoker is a needle on legs which is great in this deck since i won't lose an attacker for a normal Pithing Needle. I Generally will sideboard a Pithing Needle against burn though.
Cruel Sadist
I love this card it looks amazing and i would love to test this out when i get the chance, but i'm not entirely sure how to fit it in. Maybe replace
Rakdos Cackler
one FNM and see how it fare's.
