It is the Azorius enchantment aggro deck with mid-range lean I have in real life. It is incredibly fun to play.
The strategy is simple: play heroic creatures, play auras, use instants to make sure they don't die.
Well, that's the basic strategy, anyway. Against anything but aggro, I can also gain massive advantage with Daxos of Meletis and
Meletis Astronomer
. As mentioned in the comments below, it does better against control and worse against aggro preboard because of this.
Creatures:
Fabled Hero
is a fast, aggressive drop that wreaks havoc in just a few turns if left unchecked.
Hero of Iroas
lets us spam enchantments and also pumps himself.
Daxos of Meletis is free draw power, but for the opponent's deck. It can be nice, and the life gain can stabilize.
Meletis Astronomer
does much the same, but he only grabs enchantments. However, that also means he can't hit lands.
Enchantments:
Aqueous Form gives unblockability and helps set up the deck. Great for one mana.
Ephara's Enlightenment
pumps, gives flying, and is recyclable for more heroic triggers. Excellent, especially with a copy of
Hero of Iroas
.
Ethereal Armor gives an ENORMOUS attack buff for 1 mana. And first strike. Best card in here, imo.
Eidolon of Countless Battles gives an ENORMOUS attack buff, costs three mana with
Hero of Iroas
, and doubles as a creature in desperate times.
Instants:
Mizzium Skin gives hexproof. Great protection against targeted removal.
Gods Willing does the same thing, but gives unblockable and also makes auras drop sometimes. Also gives a bit of scry, which is always nice.
Siding:
Battlewise Hoplite
replaces Daxos of Meletis and
Hopeful Eidolon
replaces
Meletis Astronomer
against aggro. We need speed, not card advantage, against other aggro. Against white weenie, we also replace Gods Willing with
Indestructibility
. It is a slower card, but Gods Willing is absolutely useless against mono white here since it makes all of my enchantments pop off.
1x Gods Willing replaces 1x Hidden Strings against midrange, just since we need a bit more protection.
Rootborn Defenses and
Indestructibility
replace 4x Hero of Ioas and 3x Aqueous Form against control. We need answers to Supreme Verdict, essentially.
Hero of Iroas
is just generally not necessary.
Ephara's Enlightenment
is enough unblockability against the few creatures that control runs.
