A synergistic Rakdos deck for people who like making explosive plays and controlling the board. Comments and suggestions appreciated as always!
Creatures
Altac Bloodseeker
- You are going to kill things. Why not get an awesome bonus? Can pretty much end a game in one swing with an overloaded Mizzium Mortars! Combos well with Desecration Demon - They either take 6 in the air, or sacrifice a creature, make DD bigger, and have to deal with a 4 power first strike haste creature!
Desecration Demon - Controls the board or swings big. Cheat him out a turn early with haste by using Generator Servant!
Generator Servant - This guy does work. Getting out a turn 3 Desecration Demon, Master of Cruelties, or
Underworld Cerberus
with haste is absurdly powerful. Turn 3 Chandra is great for card advantage if you can safely do so. He also helps cast an overloaded Mizzium Mortars or large Rakdos's Return to cripple the opponent's game plan.
Master of Cruelties - He's a fun guy who likes to throw the occasional surprise party for your opponent.
Tymaret, the Murder King - Sacs your elemental tokens (or anything really) for final damage, makes spot removal for the opponent hurt a bit, and hits planeswalkers that have blockers; usually Xenagos, the Reveler or Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Sacrificing your
Underworld Cerberus
can be fun too!
Underworld Cerberus
- Basically unblockable, and you usually have enough creatures to benefit if they decide to kill it.
Young Pyromancer - There are a decent amount of instants and sorceries in the deck to kill things with. Provides some blockers and sac fodder.
Instants and Sorceries
Dreadbore - Kills anything for 2 mana!
Altac Bloodseeker
doesn't really mind that it's a sorcery.
Hero's Downfall - Just one for now, as double black could potentially be an issue, and it's also a bit more expensive mana-wise.
Lightning Strike - Does things that we like.
Magma Jet - So does this!
Mizzium Mortars - Great creature removal that can be overloaded as early as turn 4 in this deck.
Rakdos's Return - This card is the reason Master of Cruelties likes to party. It's that good.
Stoke the Flames
- This deck has a bunch of creatures, so I'm testing this one. Seems like a good fit so far!
She's so cool she gets her own heading. Stops problematic blockers when you need to, but more importantly, provides card advantage.
