Originally I was going to make a new deck but after placing second in a fnm my confidence in this deck has been restored. This is what I have so far. I was going to originally just replace Warleader's Helix with Boros Charm but I noticed that not only is the life gain helpful but the flexibility of it being able to hit a creature or a player is a necessary evil. The Ash Zealot use to be Lightning Mauler but I realize the haste from Lightning Mauler was very underwhelming considering the majority of the creatures in this deck has haste.

THE LEGION AND THEIR INITIATIVE

Legion's Initiative is very good card in this deck as well because everything that it pumps is needed/good. For example Ash Zealot becomes a 3/2 first strike, Boros Reckoner becomes a 4/4 Tajic, Blade of the Legion becomes a 3/3 and so on. On top of that it also adds resitivity to the deck. Skyknight Legionnaire is also good in this deck because often you need to keep back some of your land creatures or you can't get past some of you opponents land creatures. Skyknight Legionnaire is 2 damage every turn and Legion's Initiative makes it stronger. Nearheath Pilgrim is great access to life gain. It becomes less fragile with Legion's Initiative and often gives you life as soon as it is played since a lot of the creatures in this deck has haste. Tajic, Blade of the Legion is a indestructible body. It is often not hard to turn on battalion for him but even when you don't, he just a great blocker and with the Legion's Initiative , he only gets bigger and his range to kill other creatures only increase. Viashino Firstblade is pretty good too. He comes down and he is 4 damage on turn 3 and goes through a lot of things that can be summoned on turn 3 and lower ( Flinthoof Boar , Augur of Bolas , Nivix Cyclops etc.) and with Legion's Initiative he is 5 damage on turn 3 and he turns into a 3/3 for 3. Not to mention that when you ever need to crack open the Legion's Initiative he gets the boost again for that last bit of damage you need. Plus paired with Nearheath Pilgrim is a easy 4-6 life gained on turn 3. Thundermaw Hellkite is a heavy hitter. He is a 5/5 mana flying haster that destroys Lingering Souls tokens and taps everything else that is flying that he didn't kill. He is almost guaranteed damage and again with Legion's Initiative he only gets stronger. Now there is Assemble the Legion. It makes a guy every turn. The number of guys increase for as long as it is on the field. Given the time this card can get out of control and alot of decks can't answer it. With Legion's Initiative you are getting 2/2s with haste every turn. So as you can see there is really no downside with Legion's Initiative . It turns fragile creatures more resilient, it turns unfavorable casting creatures ( Skyknight Legionnaire a 2/2 for 3 mana Viashino Firstblade a 2/2 for 3 after the first turn it comes down, Nearheath Pilgrim a 2/1 for 2 mana) into a better power to CMC ratio and there is really no time you get upset when you draw into one. The more you have on the field the better they are. Not to mention a cool thing you can do is if you have a bunch of them out and one gets targeted by Detention Sphere, just crack it. it basically counters detention sphere because it no longer has a target keeping your remaining initiatives safe.

THE REMOVAL PACKAGE

Pillar of Flame is stop undying, Voice of Resurgence and just slow down Agro even more. Searing Spear is just good removal overall and both Pillar of Flame and Searing Spear can be used to hit the face. Warleader's Helix as I said earlier not only gains you life witch could be crucial but it kills a lot of creatures and is an instant only to make it better. One of the favorite things I like about this deck is that it can be very aggressive and have a fast start but if it needs to it can sit back and have a strong defense while still slamming in damage.

UPDATE 6/23/2013

After listening to many suggestions I decided to remove 4 Skyknight Legionnaire and add 2 Boros Charm 1 Spark Trooper and 1 Aurelia, the Warleader I will be taking this build to fnm and will tell you the results
