Champion of Lambholt says creatures with power LESS than, so on turn 3 when you bring it out, unless the creature has zero power, it can block your creatures. Also Druid's Deliverance is only damage dealt to you, not your creatures, therefor Fog would play better in this situation since you don't run creature tokens.

Ah lemme adjust the wording there. And actually we do run tokens (Our Frog/Lizards). And update that Champion part. BIG misread on my part haha. Doesn't change much though.

This is possibly the best description that I've ever read. Thank you for brightening my day.

In terms of your deck, seems you have no way to protect against flying. Is that intentional? If not, I would definitely recommend Cloudfin Raptor . It plays well into boosting Champion of Lambholt and gives you a cheap blocker.

Glad you enjoyed it! Well the thing about Cloudfin Raptor is that it actually slows down the deck believe it or not. In order to be able to reliably cast the cloudfin at it's ideal turn (Turn 1) We would need to add in Islands. By playing down an island Turn 1, this means we cant cast Arbor Elf or Experiment One . What this also means is that we won't get the mana we need for Predator Ooze in time. However! I DO agree that we don't have protection from flying which could be troublesome. What I suggest instead of Cloudfin Raptor is Skylasher in place of the Wolfir Avenger s. This gives us lots of utility to Flash in and make our Champion of Lambholt the possible +1 counter to swing past their army or act as chump blocker. In my opinion it's just better than the CR. So if you have a heavy flying meta, you can always adjust those Wolfir Avengers to Skylashers. Thanks for the heads up!

I adore the description & this deck. Skylasher needs to be added, but I'm at a loss as to how. +1

Correction to my previous statement: dump the guildgates. They're too slow.

July 9, 2013 2:44 p.m.

darkforce547 says... #8

But then he's short on land. That was my issue with dumping them, no matter how slow they are. One option would be to take out one of the guildgates, leaving you at a highly functional 21 and then removing just one Rapid Hybridization . Even though it's necessary, a three of might just work for it. I'm not sure yet. I'd have to playtest it a bit.

During the 10-11 playtests I did, I often found I had a spare hybridization loitering in my hand with nothing to do. I agree with darkforce547's suggestion, but would also suggest swapping out the spare guildgate for a forest. I have never had good luck with the guildgates. /bias

That's something I'd have to consider very carefully, maybe it'll depend on my opponent? I think I could I could try replacing one guild gate. I've found myself often without a blue mana source early in the game, and having an island early slows us down more than having a tapped land, those are just my personal findings. I've never really had a problem with having an extra hybrid in my hand. I usually use it to take out scary threats on my opponents side or use it to dodge removal. Maybe replace it with another Spell Rupture? Thanks for the feedback guys I really appreciate it!

Stumbled upon Tower Defense I don't know how I forgot about it. Could this replace Skylasher ? During my playtesting I also found that I (personally) want to keep the guildgate in. Just my preference though you can always adjust it to yours. Don't forget to +1 if you like the deck and comment if you have some constructive criticism!

This Champion of Lambholt is a AMAZING F... CARD for Simic decks. I'll put it in my Brazilian SIMIC right now (your advice is welcome =D)!!!

+1 for the deck and this fantastic description! hahaha

+1 from me. I like your brew. I'm sure you've already considered Progenitor Mimic , but I could see that in here. or Master Biomancer ? anyway, check out my deck The Voices of Selesnya. comment or upvote if you like my ideas.

A suggestion,Fungal Sprouting with Champion of Lambholt is just an unfair thing to do to someone when you plan on having large creatures. Also for 2 more mana with the guildmage it can be a very heavy hitter. (also very inexpensive)

I would use elvish mystic from m14 over arbor elf. Arbor elf wont work with your hinterland harbors or guildgates. With all the 1/1 counters kalonian hydra might be a good finisher. +1 check out my deck http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/hydras-m14/

Fungal Sprouting could work, what do you suggest I take out? Elvish Mystic isn't out yet, but he will replace Arbor Elf when he's out. Kalonian Hydra is coming in when it releases but I still am trying to find room for him. And I haven't found my own T3 win yet! congratz on finding it!

Guildgates are too slow for this deck, it needs cards out fast. But otherwise, so awesome! Definitely got a +1 from me!

Firstly, this deck is fantastic. I'm fairly new to all of this, and seeing these cards played the way you have them organized is somewhat eye-opening.

How come you run Wolfir Silverheart over Master Biomancer ? I've been trying to find ways to get around using the card, but up until this point I've yet to find a reason not to, even when running a splash deck featuring blue/green/whatever.

ZooGambler says... #22

Well I prefer Wolfir over Biomancer because of the ability. Biomancer is a fantastic card Don't get me wrong. He is fantastic. Wolfir just makes my deck faster than Biomancer would. With Biomancer he kinda screws around with the Undying piece of my deck. And also I don't really have a way of putting permanent counters on him.

So here's my reasoning for Wolfir, say I have Champion out as a 1/1 and maybe a Strangleroot. I play Wolfir soulbound to Champion, and now it's a 6/6 and I now have an 8/8 Wolf as well. I swing in for 8 (they most likely won't expect the Champion to leap from 1 to 6 power and probably won't have a 5/5 to block with) and still have an 8/8 to block with. Next turn swing for 16 on turn 6. Total: 24 in 2 turns,

With Biomancer, I would need to play things AFTER he's down. My Undying becomes useless after he's out. So if we wanted the same thing as above, we would have to play biomancer T4, Play Champion T5 (she's 3/3) then play 3 more creatures, if we haven't missed a land drop we can play Young wolf and Ex1 to make her a 5/5. T6 play another creature. Swing for 2 + 6 + 4 + + 4. Total: 16 over 3 turns with more requirements.

You don't have any flyers in this deck. Granted, I understand you don't need them if you're killing people on turn 6, but why are there no Cloudfin Raptor s. You could sub it in for Experiment One against people who are very flyer heavy, and it wouldn't change anything else too much. Besides, Young Wolf Rapid Hybridization Cloudfin Raptor , is even better than using Experiment One , 3/4 flyer, instead of a 3/3 on the ground.

I would say swap Predator Ooze . You dont really have a way to buff it besides Wolfir Silverheart so its not a really fast grower. plus your only way to get damage past chump blockers is Vorapede or Rancor (6 cards). I would drop The Predator Ooze x 4 for Fungal Sprouting x 3 and 1 more Champion of Lambholt . She also stacks so drawing her twice is no problem.

Also if you can find room for Hunger of the Howlpack , its a pretty essential card for decks with undying. I think its a good replacement for rancor. I would even try to find a way to get 1 more Champion of Lambholt in there for the same reason as before. If your deck is mostly based around large creatures and not too many ways of getting trample then it may help to guarantee that you have the unblockable appear more frequently.

Lastly all these cards will lower your average CMC and allow you to play cards drawn with the Zameck Guildmage .

Also, as a side to that, I seem to encounter deathtouch and first strike or doublestrike very often. Trample is not very effective against the later 2.
