Maybeboard

Here at Camp Grixis, we use the buddy system, and camp counselor Mishra is going to make sure every good little artifact creature has their buddy with them.

A Johnny/Timmy budget homebrew deck - when it works, it's a lot of fun:

  1. Get Mishra, Artificer Prodigy out, hopefully on turn 3 (can be done with a starting hand of three lands and a Myr)

  2. Doublecast Foundry Inspector on turn 4

  3. Flood the board with artifact creatures

Let's meet our campers:

  • Epochrasite - the MVP of the deck, an early-game chump blocker that can turn into a late-game beefcake. Thanks to Mishra, you can get a 1/1 and a 4/4 for (or two 4/4's for free if one of them is cast from suspension)!

  • Esperzoa : a 4/3 flyer for is great, and the drawback turns into an asset when Mishra is on the board.

  • Chief of the Foundry : Auto-include as far as I'm concerned, since it buffs everything in the deck (save for the goat tokens and Mishra himself). Also cheaper than Master of Etherium and can be cast with any type of mana

  • Foundry Inspector : Another auto-include - it's tougher and fits in the deck's mana curve better than Etherium Sculptor

  • Sphinx Summoner - Mishra's wingman (heh), SS is great for fetching exactly what creatures I need later in the game. With a couple of Inspectors on the board, SS basically allows me to make an army in one turn.

  • Chromatic Star - the star runs quadruple duty - color correction, card draw, something to do on turn 1, and fodder for Trading Post. Speaking of which...

  • Trading Post - Emergency chump blockers, emergency life gain, artifact creature retrieval, and delicious, delicious card draw - 10/10
