Thanks for the comment tawclaw, glad you are equally turned on by the concept of this deck.
Deputy of Acquittals is in there for several reasons. Remebering it's effect happens twice, if used with Strionic Resonator - Wrath / Creature Protection (In particular with Obzedat, Ghost Council . Saves from instants, the only thing can stop him, short of Blind Obedience )- Draw, through Ephara, God of the Polis - Puts Auramancer in hand, if you need to keep getting enchantments out of graveyard- Last resort for Soul Ransom , to return to hand rather than field.
As you can see, it's definitely a multi purpose card to cover some gaps, and as a last resort it's a bear. Think there's something better we can put in?
Remember, if you declare a blocker, and flash in a deputy, returing blocker to hand, your creatures live and you take no damage (assuming no trample).

Ah I see. Very well, then.
Playtesting this against my junk midrange I just got too confused and/or butthurt to continue. Regardless of what the outcomes of these games would have been, this deck accomplished its mission.
The only things I would add to this deck would be more decision-forcing cards, but there aren't many in the esper colors. For example, Whims of the Fates which forces your opponent into an uncomfortable position, similar to what a Perplexing Chimera would do. Or any goofy tribute creatures, for that matter. While these would make for a fun game, it may be hard to incorporate them into this particular deck. For another day, perhaps.
I would just want to see the looks on the faces of the hardcore mono-blue, azorius control, and mono-black players in my meta if one were to whip this perplexing posse out on a friday.

haha, Whims of the Fates has a nice home inside my land destruction deck, it won me a game the other day against MBD, who put everything in one pile and promtply folded.
I'll playtest this deck vs some friends and their various decks, and see how better it can be optimised. I think it will run especially well against control decks.

I hope you mean funny in a positive light, ChiefBell. If so, cheers brah

Cheers you, you golden person JimmietheJimster.
Still looking for any ideas people may have. The only problem I have come across is the mana required for combos, and needing to keep it open!

Maybe Far/Away instead of Devour Flesh since you have blue available? I like Strionic Resonator a lot (I've got a WUR deck that uses it with Detention Sphere, Chained to the Rocks, Assemble the Legion etc)

True true, good suggestion.
I was considering D-spheres as well, and it's on my to try list with this deck!

Remember that with the chimera you can use it to get there spell, then use deputy to return the chimera, getting their spell while they get nothing. I would also reccomend a Syncopate or two as well. If you can pick up a Sphinx's Revelation or two, it would help.
Other than that, it sounds fun. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider Sphinx's Revelation as I do have them!
Regarding deputy and perplexing, it unfortunately does not work. The card's specific rules state the following
"If Perplexing Chimera leaves the battlefield or the spell leaves the stack before the triggered ability resolves, you cant make the exchange."
But thanks brah, may the butthurt be with you.

I clicked because it said butthurt and I have no regrets. Upvoted.

Thanks dreamaddict, it's a strong card if you have the mana and slots for it. Abuses every enter the battlefield effect!

+1 for using Soul Tithe I've been waiting for that card to get it's day in the sun.

Totally agree Behgz. Against ramp decks, it combined with Devour Flesh makes for a nasty combo. It makes Elvish Mystic redundant, or makes them have to keep paying for their turn 2 Domri Rade , and that is huge. This affects pretty much every deck, leaving everyone to do a double take on the card: "Really? At the beginning of every upkeep?"
Also, as a side note. this beat my Gruul devotion (2 best of 3 games, another person piloting my deck), which is definitely no slouch of a deck.

what about Thassa, God of the Sea also +1 cool deck

Thanks atlantis55555.
I hadn't considered Thassa, God of the Sea , and although she's a fantastic card, I don't see a place in this deck. I don't want to bench too much on gods, currently having 3, and her scry is useful but I prefer the draw I get from Ephara, God of the Polis . Is there any reason in particular you think she could go in? Happy to try it man, thanks for the suggestion! xoxo

I like this deck. I like it a lot. I like it's name. I like it's purpose. And I like it's description.
Whether it's competitive or not it's hilarious and is something that would be fun as hell to bring to an FNM.
The only thing I'm concerned about is Deputy. Maybe I'm missing the obvious but what is her purpose in this deck?
