I looked at your deck. Very nice! I like the Krav, the Unredeemed in the deck. might be something for me to consider.

Thanks, I'm curious how you're doing with 32 mana? The biggest problem I have with mono-black is it's ramp seems slow. It doesn't help that my main deck is Seton, and I'm usually going off by turn 4-5 so it really sucks not pulling any mana or pulling too much.

Also what are your thoughts on Liliana, Dreadhorde General ??

Outside her mana cost, she seems perfect for Shirei.

I'm not really sure how I feel about Liliana, Dreadhorde General . I mean it's expensive and late game where i could see this being played, you should aready have a decent setup. IDK.

But I never have any issues with mana. I have so many ways to search for swamps, or quick ramp to get me ahead, Sacing for mana, there are so many ways to to keep my mana coverd.

maybe some of what I have will work for your deck?

I feel Shirei is all about the late game, so that's why I think she is perfect for it. I'm going to give her a try, and see what the results are.

This comes from love, I also have a Shirei deck and hate to see people misplaying him. Desecrated Tomb is overrated and should be pulled out, it only triggers once per turn. A better replacement would be Lightning Coils which gives you more creatures and more powerful creatures. I would recommend also pulling Liliana's Shade , which is a four drop for a land to your hand, Skittering Surveyor does the same thing and is a three drop. Soldevi Adnate is also pretty bad, most cards with a tap ability are in this type of deck. First you would only be getting 4 mana at the most, which is fine but underutilized. My final creature suggestion is to add more heavies. Where is the win-con? Where are the super demons who destroy things? Ob Nixilis, Unshackled , is perfect as is Razaketh, the Foulblooded

You also do not have commander protection. Sure you can re-animate him but you lose all of the creatures that go to the graveyard that turn before he died. Lightning Greaves , Swiftfoot Boots , Darksteel Plate , and most importantly Dark Privilege . Which is a sac outlet and protection.

May 17, 2019 4:19 a.m.

Non-Linear that's not how Desecrated Tomb works. Each creature comes out separately one at a time. So each time they come out Desecrated Tomb will trigger. So if three creatures come back from the grave, each come one at a time not in mass so it will trigger for each one thus giving you three bats.

That is the popular misconception, according to the Gatherer as of 7/13/2018; "You create one Bat token each time Desecrated Tomb ’s ability triggers, no matter how many cards left your graveyard." And because Desecrated Tomb says "one or more creature cards..." you will make one bat per turn (they all leave at the same time). So technically if you get them to leave one at a time throughout your turn then you could get multiple bats.

Non-Linear is right. His card selections are also on point.

I do agree with allot of the suggestions from Non-Linear and have already started switching them out. I can understand the problem with Desecrated Tomb . I thought personally that it was a bat per creature returned. But I see now that that's not what it says.

I will have an updated list here in a bit. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

I'll admit this is the first Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker deck i've ever seen. It's rare when I come across mono-colored decks - I like the concept and from what I could see is a nice cohesive strategy - +1 from me. There is a massive oversight here though - your write up is severely lacking and doesn't convey what your deck is trying to do. I suggest taking the time to do a proper write up of your deck. Here's an article that may help with that: Epochalyptik's Do you want to write a Primer? It's what got me started when writing primers. Additionally, to help get more eyes on your deck, I suggest adding more Deck Hubs, which are covered in Epochalyptik's Getting More views on your decks. Some suggested hubs could be Causal, and Control. Maybe - and I could be inaccurate with these Hubs but maybe your deck could have Aristocrats, or Value-Engine as well.

Thank you for the great info. I have read both articles you shared and i'm going to update the page. I'm no expert in making things look super amazing like most but I will do what I can to give the most info as possible.

Again thank you!!!

Have you considered running Contamination ? You could really lock things down with it.

OH SNAP! I will find this card.

Thank you

I second bushido_man96's suggestion on Contamination - i've seen this card lock other players out completely on one occasion. Not to mention it fits in very nicely with your "Sacrifice for value" strategy. Some of the usual suspects I see that accompany it are Erebos, God of the Dead and Gary - but i'm not sure how cohesive they are to your deck's strategy.

Yes I agree, that would be a very good card to place in this deck. Gray- was an option a while back when I first started this deck. I replaced it since then.

on another note. I have been editing my description for the deck page. It's much better then it was.

Thanks again for all the tips.

A little on the janky side, and you would get blown out by a sweeper, but Kormus Bell lets you drastically increase the number of saccables you have, plus gets pretty fun with Urborg out. Thoughtpicker Witch isn't that good in my experience unless you can go infinite or you have a lot of mana to dump into it. Maybe cut her for Bone Shredder from the sideboard

Kholek says... #18

That seems like a good trade out. I agree Thoughtpicker Witch is a hard one to use if your low on mana and creatures to kill off. she has come in handy a few times but i can see Bone Shredder 's use as well. I will order the card and test it out. thanks for the ideas.

Shirei is the only deck i've built and not taken apart at any point. Love black weenies. An all star in my shirei is Mindless Automaton - draws a card on everyone's turn and sac's to itself to do it, pure gas

also Blessing of Leeches is pretty dope for protection

Blessing of Leeches that's an interesting idea. I will have to look more into that one.

and I was just thinking about putting him back in. guess that's that then... back in he goes.

Thanks

Hey, cool deck, I think that you can add some of these:

I hope that that helped you

Thank you for your sugestions. I deffently like the Tattered Mummy and Sling-Gang Lieutenant and could even find a place for Dutiful Attendant

as for Aetherworks Marvel it's not bad by any means I think I just have this strange love for Jar of Eyeballs . It just lets me dig deeper, although it's worth play testing to see what I come up with.

once again thank you!

Hope of Ghirapur is so cool! Love the synergy, never would have thought of it. Some Advice, I've just been playing Pestilence in a recent brew and it outperformed! Would highly suggest it, the hype is real. This is a sweet deck +1
