Same. At $11 per Thought-Knot Seer, you could have...3? And nothing else. Nothing. GG @ Wizards of the Coast

I pulled a Thought-Knot Seer, and I'm holding it, Midexin. I see it getting to Thoughtseize price range, because it has legs. But, it's long term value depends on how long it takes Wizards to ban Eldrazi Temple/Eye of Ugin. No matter what, I see it never going below my initial investment of $4.55.

At my LGS it HAS been sitting around that price. Has it gone down a bit, with people worrying of a looming ban on the way?

NotSquishedYet says... #5

The only real budget Eldrazi is U/R Beatdown.

NotSquishedYet, Midexin, CheeseBro; I just chose popular archetypes, to inspire builders to push the envelope of a budget.

@Atony1400 we aren't saying it's your fault or that it can't be done, just pointing out that even though nearly none of these budget decks are Tier One for their format (aside from some of the Pauper ones, really), with Eldrazi, the bar is PARTICULARLY high.

Atony1400, out of curiosity, what would you give for an ETA on testing World Warping Warfighters? I should have it finished, for now, this week, and with some tournament results under its belt. I think until SOI it really outshines the other suggestion.

@NotSquishedYet,

currently are reviewing 28 decks (10 in voting + 18 in que), so if you want to submut, I might want to wait a few. However, it may take a week or two, if I put it in the que now.

March 14, 2016 8:37 a.m.

Alright. I just wanted the general timeframe - thanks! I did update the last few cards anyway, since I've got it all figured out in paper what needs changed out, so yes. If you can put it in the queue now, that would be great!

Already did! Thanks NotSquishedYet!

Breaking Connections. my Pauper Mill submission from the requested list. 3-0 against Midnight-Gond decks in testing, 1-2 to some R/B aggro homebrew similar to my Ragged Blitz. 2-1 versus Acid Trip (U/W, similar to the list on MtgGoldFish). No tournament expericence.

Great! Thanks Midexin. Also, would you like to participate on the 2016 Standard Pauper Challenge (Spring)? I think you'd like it!

@Atony1400: I know you have a lot of decks to review, but I was hoping you could review my Daxos the Returned deck.

Grantley91 helped me bring down the price and straighten out the curve. I've only played 4 games with it, but here's how I won some of them:

  1. Convince my opponents there is no need to run Tranquility.

  2. Reveal commanders, tell my opponents it is too late to sideboard stuff in.

  3. Win.

I'm not sure if that counts as the wincon for this deck, but it sure worked for me.

Hi Atony1400, My Blessings from Nyx doesn't appear well on the page. Also I wanted to tell you a description for it: A control deck with Enchantments as its theme. Inexpensive. With pumped beaters and Pacifism-like auras.

Thanks saturnosring, I'll update the page now!

Am I the only one that isn't really going to do standard even with all the cool new cards because it's going to be too dang expensive, even to build fringe, more "flavorful" or combo decks because of that ONE playset of playable cards that you use? Thing in the Ice? I wanted to go SO hard in the paint with that card. I know prices are slightly inflated right now, but $20 could be its standing price because of eternal formats. Same with Relentless Dead. Don't get me wrong- presuming Wizards and MaRo do me a favor, I might get off with playable Spirit Tribal, which, to be honest, would probably be my preference anyways. But still. Am I the only one feeling like things have been a bit....overpriced lately?

@Midexin,

I mentioned it a while back on my profile (when I was doing dated updates and such) that this was my last standard. I'll find it under my threads and pull it up for you....

Turns out that I only did one more similar update after this one:

XD yeah. It's a bit awkward. On one hand they removed core sets which were for newer players, and then they return us to almost above Caw-Blade standard. Kappa that one out, Wizards. I wonder if they will notice the influx in popularity of Pauper....

March 17, 2016 5:09 p.m.

Atony1400 says... #24

I think pauper will spike. Alot of people I know are dropping standard.

March 17, 2016 5:14 p.m.

Midexin says... #25

Yeah. They have to do something, or they are literally going to drive themselves out of business- despite what they might think, 10,000 dedicated PPTQ-PT level players will simply not keep them in business. I mean, it's honestly painful to say, "wow, this card looks SO fun to play with, I want to build a deck around it!" Then looking at the price tag per card and realizing you simply can't do it. I know that this is solely a paper magic problem, but that's the only real kind of Magic to me. Fidgeting with the cards, learning card tricks, looking at your opponent and trying to read them, I don't know. I'm not hating on online Magic, but I do feel that it lacks a sense of competition or genuineness.
