Who would of thought, the Cheap Deck Club talking about foils, a way to make your deck more expensive!
But anyways, foil Winterflame is simply beautiful, as are some foil artifacts.

Awww...
I was late for the whole 'is budget competitive or not' debate :'(
Just saying, I consistently go 3-1/4-0 at FNM with my budget spirit tempo deck, so yeah.
If you (thebigman) can't do well at tournaments with budget decks, maybe you need to practice playing magic a bit more and learn how to play on a budget - it's really quite simple for most people.

K00lDudE1 that means nothing if you cannot produce results. you might be full of shit. anywho, he's probably not running budget decks because he can run decent decks.

How about this? Budget decks can win. Easily.
The one problem is: They're no longer budget. Take Lantern Control. Most of the deck was budget as hell, then it worked. It's now a fairly large-scale Modern competitor, for those who bother to use it.
Tyrannosary, I don't have any source on that - what did it work in? It wasn't the Omnath+Exile+Aurora combo, was it?
May 16, 2016 6:31 p.m.
Bovine073, I can attest to that! Winterflame is awesome!
@NotSquishedYet, I follow ecenomics, and I have watched The Great Aurora jump from $.94 to $1.76 and still rising in the past 2 weeks. I imagine it's due to what was mentioned above, because mtgstocks has no decks listed for it, and there seem to be no other reasons for its sudden rise.

Strange. There's one combo with two iterations that has been going around:
Omnath, Locus of Rage, Stasis Snare/Aligned Hedron Network, The Great Aurora
The game plan:
Ramp into Omnath and friends.
Exile Omnath w/ one of those two cards, and possibly some other beatsticks.
Play The Great Aurora, ending the already-resolved delayed trigger of the exile-effect before it resolves.
With Omnath in play, The Great Aurora drops 7-12 lands. You may or may not play Chandra's Ignition for an insta-win.

I've seen similar combos (and tried to make one myself) with Worldfire, which works in the exact same way except they're left with 1 life and you can use a creature with myriad, like Warchief Giant, then kill all your opponents at once that same turn. I'm trying to work something like that into the Mizzix of the Izmagnus deck I'm working on.

Casting Worldfire with flash makes it much easier - you might consider Brain in a Jar to durdle into it and SMASH. Cast an instant or sorcery that damages each opponent by 1, then Worldfire with flash.

Whoops, just realized Worldfire was illegal in EDH, probably because it's much easier to pull of that type of combo. I do actually have 3 Brain in a Jars from drafting, a Thing in the Ice Flip I got from a friend, and a Jace, Unraveler of Secrets I got from a pack. Until now though, I never considered that Brain could be used to cast sorceries at instant speed. I'm trying to get some help on my Mizzix deck, i.e bringing the price down, straightening out my curve, and just generally making it better: My Mi(zzi)xtape

Hey guys, I got a lot of news, so no time for an introduction. I just wanted to give a little update about the status of the club.
First off, I would like to thank everybody for your continued support, even if sometimes it goes just a slight bit too far: cough, Tyrannosary, The_Redpill, TheHelvault, cough.
Besides that, I would like to thank my friends who help me manage the page in the committee, specifically deltacobra, The_Redpill, Panzerforge, Squirrel_of_War, CheeseBro, TheHroth, and jimakos96. Some of them have been here since the page started 7 months ago! (Can you believe it?!?!)
Another reason I'm writing this is to point out some people who aren't on the committee, but their help is well noticed, specifically Tyrannosary, ThoAlmighty, and NotSquishedYet. I really owe you all one, and thanks for everything!
Now on to the main point of this long drawn out comment, the page itself. As you may have noticed, there are 124 supporters who have up voted the club, OVER 15,000 VIEWS, and 49 decks spanning numerous formats, some of which not endorsed by WOTC as of current (bananamaniaman, Don't worry, SHELF WILL BE RECOGNIZED SOON ENOUGH!). Those are some great stats, but let me make this clear that we are not done yet!
Now, let's talk the committee. Although I try to keep things under wraps, I am writing this to publicly address what we are currently up to regarding deck submissions. After a small hiatus, I look to start moving forward with deck submissions, page updates, and possible tournements in the near future. So, with that, I give you an updated list of all the users who we currently have decks from:

This deck is a budget tiny leaders deck. It is a bit expensive, but you probably have all the most expensive cards.
June 30, 2016 8:18 p.m.
magicarp03, even though I do have a few of the cards there (which would be enough for me to build it/lower the price), it would not be up to me to decide if we take it as a submission; it is up to the committee. Sadly, the deck's current price is too high for us to accept it as a submission at this time.

How about now? I took out Serra Ascendant, so it is about 60$

Oh and by the way, I don't have event records yet b/c I haven't built it irl yet, but I will soon. I'll post them on the deck page.

Ok. Thanks magicarp03! Although I wouldn't recommend changing your list just for the club.

Maybe it's a good thing? Here me out, magicarp03, but from my testing, the Ascendanct makes you a huge target for others to attack. Sane way with Felidar Soverign. I'm begining to regret putting them in my deck in the first place!
The proper description of Serra Ascendant in my deck should be, "The tool you use when you seem to have no friends." because it's the only way that card shines.

So I found your club and I said "Hey I make budget decks that are fun and sometimes competitive so I might as well try to join."
So I am going to submit my most popular budget deck currently.

I would like my deck Axebane's Wrath: Budget < $25!? to be considered for this club.
July 11, 2016 6:29 p.m.
Here is in my opinion my best budget deck ever. It's for a format proposed by a friend from my LGS. Use legacy cards but no single card in your deck can exceed $ 2 in value. we use tcg mid.

NotSquishedYet The Great Aurora has had a recent spike due to the past magic online tourney this weekend.
