This deck is, by my all my friends' definitions, DUMB. And they are totally right. Its dumb, its incredibly stupid. It really shouldnt work at all, and yet it does. This is one of those decks where a first time user is going to look at their opening hand, and all consecutive draws thereafter, and say "ok wtf am I supposed to do with this?" Well, it's simple: you roll with it. Now let me be clear, this is a multiplayer deck. It can fare well enough 1v1, but it shines in multiplayer settings. On average, I play with about 3, to 5.5 people every saturday. (The .5 is my friend Jake, who doesnt have legs.)

After a good two or three months of playing this deck every week, for about three games per Saturday, I have found the pattern to play this deck. (You know what they say about the man who practices one kick a thousand times. *wink wink)

The goal is simple, play dumb. You're not trying to dominate the board state. You're not trying to make deals, or grief the other players. What you're trying to do is play dumb until you get what you need.

And what you need are these things, Pathbreaker Ibex, Craterhoof Behemoth, Sphinx Mindbreaker, Panharmonicon, or Terastodon everything else is gravy. These cards are the win-cons, the smasharoos, the morbidly obese kid rolling down a hill at 70mph towards a unassuming candy store.

These are all rather different in terms of use. Each one is geared towards a different scenario. Obviously if you're going to use Terastodon you better have a Ghostly Prison. Otherwise you'll immediately get your face pummeled by a hoard of 3/3's governed by a salty player.

The Terastodon win-con is a pain in the ass for whoever becomes its target. The idea is to cut the opponent at the roots. That opponent should typically be whoever has the greatest board state. Then bounce Terastodon with the varying Conjurer's Closet effects until that player has zero mana, and only a heap of 3/3's that cant attack you because, well, you have a Ghostly Prison.

Then there is good ol' faithful, Craterhoof Behemoth. Once you get a couple of dorky creatures out, play this bad boy and POOF, all six of those dorky 1/1's become 11/11's (assuming you have a Panharmonicon. Then they become 22/22's with the aid of a potential Pathbreaker Ibex. This finisher is simple, and often happens out of the blue thanks to our splendor of creature tutors.

The next, and dumbest win-con is Sphinx Mindbreaker. I know what you're thinking, "Mill, really? Why is that even here???" Well you see, sometimes Terastodon isnt at the ready, either because he was killed/countered before he could reap destruction, or because you dont have those Propaganda effects to keep you from being absolutely stomped. Other times, Craterhoof simply cant get through to attack. Mindbreaker Sphinx is here to do what the others cant do, and that's passively murdering opponents. Imagine playing the Mindbreaker, paired with Panharmonicon. That's 20 cards off your opponents libraries. A whole fifth of their deck in the graveyard. Then, you end your turn with a Soulherder. Again, another 20 cards off the top. That's 40 cards gone in one turn! However, your opponents blow up your artifact, and your Soulherder. Now what? Well, Rite of Replication of course! That's 50 cards off the top, for a total 90 cards in two or three turns.

Now you may have noticed that I havent mentioned Chulane, Teller of Tales. That's because, although he is the Commander, he isnt an essential part of the deck. He is useful, for sure, but not the keystone.

Everything else in the deck is either to keep opponents at bay: such as Path to Exile, the various counter spells, and tax cards. Or to ramp up to enough mana to cast our cute little win-cons. I know the deck seems like a weird mix of simplicity and over-complexity, but I promise it does what I've noted, and then some more!
