The Colossus of Death

Modern* Aggro Combo Control UB (Dimir)

Sideboard

There seems to a lot of love and hate for the Blightsteel Colossus right now. So, I'm attempting my own variation of the Turbo Colossus.

My variation is based around the interaction between Deathtouch and Trample. As per the magic rules, if a creature with Trample deals lethal damage to a blocker, it's remaining damage rolls over to the player. 1 point of damage from a Deathtouch creature is lethal, which then allows you to dump all but 1 point of the Blightsteel Colossus's damage directly on the blocking creature's control (unless they multi-block of course, but now we're getting in semantics).

And of course, I have to give credit where credit is due. Thanks to shawning for creating Splicing Insanity and inspiring me to get over my Blightsteel Colossus hate, and build this deck.

Let me know what you think!

Also, if you're trying to find the relevant comprehensive rules, here's they are for easy reference (well, the rule and a quick summary).

704.5h Any deathtouch damage assigned to a creature destroys it.

702.2b Any amount of deathtouch damage is lethal.

510.1c-d A break down and example of how blocking and assigning damage works.

702.18b Breaks down how trample works as a modifier for assigning combat damage.

Updates Add

Once and awhile, I fail to make changes to the deck here on tappedout, that I've actually made irl. So I finally put in the Inkmoth Nexus' that I've been playing with, as I know some of you have been wondering where they were. :D
