i saw this deck while looking through trades and its really good. One thing that I like to have is Decree of Pain which is a good late game damnation with a lot of value. If you are playing this with groups rather than 1v1 it gives you a lot of value. I also think Fecundity is good.

julianjmoss the problem with Fecundity is that it helps your opponents too, and if you have an opponent running a token deck or a sacrifice deck, they WILL draw more cards than you... And those are some pretty common strategies for commander, because of the late-game focus in the format... (especially since commander is so multi-player friendly...)

I run one in my deck and the card advantage is really helpful. In order to counteract their card advantage you have things like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Grave Pact to control the game

This deck is more or less a straight reanimator. I ideally try to fetch the Buried Alive, cast it, and ramp into a Mimeoplasm. There are obviously some alternative plans and Mimeoplasm needs to be defended but it's fast and strong.

Sylvan Primordial was banned in EDH/Commander recently. Sucks, but it was way overpowered.

Right, I saw that but haven't replaced it yet. I think I'll add Damia, Sage of Stone and see how that goes (both 7 CMC and both do crazy card advantage).

consider some mill cards to make The Mimeoplasm even better. a Traumatize or a Szadek, Lord of Secrets are incredible boosters.

Traumatize and Szadek, Lord of Secrets are very expensive. The main method for milling in this deck is Hermit Druid .

Tunnel Vision . Auto mill combo with Hinder and Spell Crumple . At worse a desperate mana hungry milling tutor.
April 9, 2014 10:18 p.m.
I'm not really looking to dump six mana into a mill spell when my general costs 5. I would rather run a tutor effect to fetch a more efficient spell, like Hermit Druid or Buried Alive , which are generally the best ways to enable The Mimeoplasm into becoming a game-winning threat.

Perhaps Corpsejack Menace for this deck as well. It can help boost Miemeoplasm and really make victory even faster since it would not mess with the mana curve too much being four mana.

Lightning Greaves and Whispersilk Cloak help protect Mimeo from target removal plus cloak is really good for helping you get commander damage kills, Thassa, God of the Sea does this as well while also speeding your deck up

I generally would prefer to run spells that either can be more versatile counterspells for protection, or just use more enablers so I can recast The Mimeoplasm for 7 if he dies.

Deck seems good but the cards you run almost seem to good to be true. Grim Tutor, and Imperial Seal? Every single duel and Fetch and Drain? Just idk sounds crazy.

It's not an actual deck I own but just a dream project of mine that I would like to put together over the course of a few years.

I only mention because I actually do own the deck I posted and it took me a long time, tons of trades, and a few hundred dollars plus I already had the duels and a few other cards from my own personal collection and it still only tops out at like 1700 Max. Yours is in the 3000s that just struck me as a little unbelievable. Thanks for the honesty though now I can sleep at night lol.

Something that I like to run is Death's Shadow or Phyrexian Dreadnought for counters from the grave.
May 25, 2014 5:39 p.m.
Death's Shadow and Phyrexian Dreadnought are excellent for putting big amounts of counters on The Mimeoplasm very easily, but the problem is that alone, they do nothing. For that reason, I elect to run larger creatures such as Damia, Sage of Stone , Consecrated Sphinx , Terastodon , Rune-Scarred Demon , etc, all of which can be hardcast and change the game dramatically, or can be thrown away with mill/discard effects and recurred into a more powerful Mimeoplasm form later in the game.

Have you ever considered Traumatize and target yourself? Very powerful. +1

@TheGamer, I prefer to use Life from the Loam as a way to keep my mill, shuffling and fetchlands running, or Hermit Druid as a cheap potential milling bomb, plus a guaranteed land. Other ways I can get things in the graveyard include Buried Alive (best enabler in the deck), Entomb , Survival of the Fittest , Memory Jar , Intuition (also fantastic), Fact or Fiction . Thirst for Knowledge , Careful Consideration , etc. For 5 mana, I should be casting The Mimeoplasm , not setting up for it. That is why Traumatize doesn't make the cut.

Mimeoplasm becoming a copy of Sage of Hours with Lord of Extinction counters on it???

My money would be on a Phyrexian Obliterator with any high powered +1/+1 counters for your mimoplasm. Throw some hexproof on it and watch it clear the board.

Most auras are very risky in this deck. Geist is very prone to boardwipes and playing an aura on him could be the biggest setback for this deck. That's why Angelic Destiny makes the cut. I consider Gift of Immortality to be close because it protects Geist almost indefinitely.
