You really should run Mesmeric Orb it creates quite a bit of mill for all players. I run it in my mill deck and it's AMAZING everytime. With more things in more graveyards The Mimeoplasm would be much much better.

Aphetto Alchemist for you mesmeric orb

Aphetto Alchemist doesn't contribute anything to the rest of the deck, and is only minorly advantageous when Mesmeric Orb is in play.

Sensei's Divining Top is banned in EDH. Overall a good deck, makes excellent use of The Mimeoplasm 's rather fun ability. The only thing I have a problem with is the price tag...

Sensei's Divining Top is indeed legal in multiplayer EDH. In French 1v1 competitive EDH, it is banned, but for DCI sanctioned multiplayer EDH events Sensei's Divining Top is legal and in 95% of decks. I don't plan on removing it any time soon. But yes, the price tag is indeed a bit absurd, however there are budget options such as using alternate lands from the Duals and Fetches, or finding Jace, the Mind Sculptor , Mana Crypt , Mana Drain , Force of Will , etc. more cost appropriate replacements.

Life's Finale is a nice boardwipe for this guy. Picking an opponent's best three creatures is a great addition for the 2 extra mana over other black boardwipes.

I understand that you don't want creatures that do nothing by themselves and taking that into consideration i'd still like to suggest Ghoultree . While a 10/10 for 8 is usually not that great it's more like a 10/10 for 4-6 mana in a Mineoplasm deck. That's when you are "not" putting 10 counters onto a mimeoplasm that's already entering as a copy of Rune-Scarred Demon .

Sorin Markov was a consideration, but I mainly dropped it because in playtesting I was unfortunately finding it too hard to make the 3 black mana. Magister Sphinx is a little lackluster at 7 mana, especially in multiplayer games. I'll stick with Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Sheoldred, Whispering One as my 7 drops. And Moonlight Bargain is great, but not exactly what I'm looking for at 5 mana. I prefer Fact or Fiction . And in regards to Treasure Mage , I actually already cut him for Batterskull the other day, but never updated the list. Thank you very much for the suggestions!

if you plan on running all those mana rocks you should put in Unwinding Clock , Winter Orb , and a Chalice of Life  Flip / Chalice of Death  Flip . I run oloro also if you want to look at a more lockdown build Oloro, Sit Back and Win

If cost is no concern then Cryptic Command , Mana Drain and Mana Crypt are easy slot ins. If it is, things get a bit more complicated. I'm guessing from the low average CMC and use of Brainstorm effects this deck is aiming to be pretty competitive, so forgive me if my suggestions are a bit slow for what you're trying to run.

Archon of Justice > Oblivion Ring - Great in control decks since he'll keep big creatures at bay. Better to have on the board when someone wraths; where an Oblivion Ring might end up sheltering a target, Archon will exile something for good. Gives Sheoldred another target.

Duplicant > Detention Sphere - Might not hit non-creatures, but it will remove major threats permanently while giving you your own. Benefits from all your existing blinking tricks. Also hit by Sheoldred.

Curse of the Swine > Go for the Throat - Exiling is a big damn deal, exiling multiple targets that you get to choose is huge. Works well with wrath effects like Cyclonic Rift and Terminus.

Brago, King Eternal > Adjani's Pridemate - Pridemate is just a creature, even if he's a 10/10 that's all he is. No trample, no evasion, no card advantage and no utility. With Brago you effectively give all your creatures vigilance, untap all your mana rocks, and get yet another way to abuse ETB effects like Rune-Scarred Demon and Ashen Rider.

Spin into Myth > Unexpectedly Absent - A bit slower, but a whole lot more brutal. In EDH your opponent might be able to get back to something 3 or 4 cards deep in a turn, but with Spin they'll need a tutor.

Archangel of Thune > Batterskull - Thune goes nuts with Oloro. Batterskull is great but can really slow you down if you're holding back 3 to bounce it or committing 5 to equip it in the turns after you drop it. Hit by Sheoldred. I'd try to find a slot for Batterskull again, I just think Thune works better in the slot.

Decree of Pain > Increasing Ambition - Ambition is just incredibly slow. You might be tapping out two turns to tutor for 3 cards. You might tap out for Decree of Pain but the card advantage it can generate is ridiculous. Even if there are only 6 creatures on the board and 2 of them are your own you're 3 for 6ing. On top of that you're wrathing the board, presumably keeping you safe long enough to use those cards.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Oloro was recently banned as a commander

July 19, 2014 9:23 p.m.

FancyTuesday says... #15

He was only banned in French, which is a niche within EDH for 1v1 competitive players. He's still allowed in multiplayer.

@aznb01777 Thank you for the suggestions, I will test them

@FancyTuesday All your suggestions are extraordinary and I greatly appreciate the time you put in to help me with this deck. I plan on putting every one of them in eventually, expect Mana Drain , Cryptic Command , and Mana Crypt may never make my budget unfortunately. Thanks again, you reminded me of cards I had totally forgotten existed

@omnimon227, as he said, Oloro is totally fine in multiplayer EDH. They are two totally seperate formats, playstyles, and ban lists. As multiplayer EDH is a casual format, Oloro should be safe.

This is pretty sweet. I like the way you went with it. It's somewhat similar to mine but I went more lifegain/card draw. Same commander, let me know if you pick up any good ideas from mine! :D

I would replace Azorius Signet with Gilded Lotus . Would help with getting the correct mana.

Have you ever considered Serra Avatar ? It's a great card for lifegain decks.

@jaredscottwilson Thanks for the positive support! I'll be sure to check out your deck as well.

@omnimon227 It's understandable, it's pretty confusing having two different metas and ban lists for commander 1v1 and multiplayer.

@TheMercadian I'll consider those suggestions. I'll have to get my hands on a Gilded Lotus first.

I'd switch out an Island for Minamo, School at Water's Edge . Strictly better.

vishnarg says... #22

Not strictly better, but mostly an improvement. Cards like Blood Moon , Wasteland , and Path to Exile are a few reasons why Minamo, School at Water's Edge isn't a strict upgrade. But I agree, and I will look to acquire one for this deck.

Hi! +1! Awesome Oloro deck. Just bought the precon. "Eternal Bargain" deck. Would really appreciate if you would take a second, and come up with some budget suggestions in order to make it more competitive.

Olorororo on a budget. Help needed!

Cheers, Kristensen

Firstly M15 came out with a great artifact called Perilous Vault ! At some point an opponent is going to go a little wild with Avenger of Zendikar tokens coming at you or 4+ planeswalkers. This is a handy way to deal with it all. Truth is I hate this artifact and will -3 a Karn Liberated but I run it just because it's so unique / useful as far as screwing your opponents plans.

I highly recommend Venser, Shaper Savant . It's a good way to bounce things to your hand that you want to keep around when somebody tries to Path of Exile, Chaos Warp or AEtherize something you control. Not only that but depending on how long your games take you can set it up with Deadeye Navigator for ultimate funzies. Don't forget you can return the spell to their hand!

Aside from that form of Venser I highly recomend Venser, the Sojourner . He works well with Stoneforge Mystic , Venser, Shaper Savant , Phyrexian Metamorph , Rune-Scarred Demon , Restoration Angel , and is good for resetting a damaged Tezzeret the Seeker . BTW his ultimate can easily win games if he's sitting behind something as pathetic as a Fog Bank and/or Guard Gomazoa and you've got a couple counters handy.

If you do decide to add Venser, the Sojourner consider running a Trinket Mage to repeatedly fetch out Sol Ring , Elixir of Immortality , Sensei's Divining Top and keep a Tormod's Crypt in the side if your friends like to play Shuffle Graveyard type effects.

Well of Lost Dreams seems like a good card in your deck, since you have the life gained from oloro every turn it always is active and 1 mana for a card is a really good rate
