klone13, vault, TheGamer and Hallowed_Titan...what do you think? This is a interesting idea. :p

I would say Fiery Justice but that wouldn't make sense. You could make this a four color wish board tainted remedy deck (i don't think it would work). Idk. Up Rest for the Weary and Path to Exile to four. And Grove of the Burnwillows. So maybe make naya splash black. Maybe Glittering Wish is worthwhile.

I like the concept, but I'm not sold on the high amount of lands or the ramp. Why is that needed?

I'm back baby! I suggest Condemn and Vizkopa Guildmage in the SB for some fun interactions abusing your opponents creatures(sadly does die to bolt...)

BlackyMTG says... #5

Condemn MB though.

klone13 says... #6

Oust too.

BTW You put this as standard.

More Devour Flesh imo. Its removal and helps your win con, but is kinda weak against Lingering Souls, but you can then side them out for more removal. Oust is great too.

@klone13 - I really do not want to take this into a quad, or even trip-colored deck...the mana base would cost me too much because I like having a stable system with no mana screw and that many fetches and shocks would kill me and my wallet. Haha. Glittering Wish doesn't fetch either of my combo pieces, and makes me add a color...so I think I will keep it Orzhov for the time being. Thank you for the comment though.

@vault - The number of lands and ramp is so that I can reliably cast Beacon of Immortality, However I am thinking of dropping it in favor of more Devour Flesh or adding in Oust. If i decide to do that, I will adjust my things accordingly...actually, I like that idea...I will do that.

@iCryEryTime - First of all, thank you for reminding me to tab it under the correct format. I love the suggestion of Condemn, what would you replace for it? Make sure you check my new list as of about 5 minutes of completing this post. Vizkopa Guildmage seems interesting...but I don't plan on gaining much life to be honest.

@TheGamer - What do you think of the new list? A little less gimmicky, a lot more consistent.

@Everyone - I changed the deck up to remove the insane amount of mana, and the four ramp cards. It seems much more consistent to me, what do y'all think of it now?

The idea of Viskopa Guildmage was to actually give your opponents creatures lifelink so they're goyfs hurt themselves too... I honestly don't like Nyx-Fleece Ram while he does hold off aggro he hurts you on your upkeep try Wall of Omens

October 8, 2015 11:09 p.m.

Scytec says... #11

@iCryEryTime - How does he hurt me on my upkeep? Tainted Remedy only affects my opponents...and actually, that it a great idea about the guildmage...that's kind of dirty, I love it. Haha. I think I will include a pair in the sideboard for creature decks, but none mainboard for now, we will see how it turns out. I have plenty of draw in the form of Phyrexian Arena and BOB, so I am not sure Wall of Omens is really necessary...if Nyx-Fleece turns out subpar in testing, I will try substituting the wall for the to see how they play. Thanks!!

Sorry thought you were playing Rain of Gore too and yeah I love brewing up new ideas and decks and this one seems fun I might try it out sometime

I would cut the Phyrexian Arenas. 4x Bob is enough CA. You could move Lingering Souls to the MB to replace the arenas and act as another win condition.

Im still just not a fan of Doom Blade. Victim of Night, more Path to Exile, even Smother. I just feel there will be so many situations where you wanted to kill a black creature, and couldnt.

October 9, 2015 6:31 a.m.

I would recommend replacing Nyx-Fleece Ram with Wall of Shards because it also hoses aggro and with Tainted Remedy, can be a win-con.

October 9, 2015 7:08 a.m.

Scytec says... #16

@TheGamer - I do not particularly care for it either. But sticking double black turn two to hose the goyfs of the world may be an issue occasionally. I love Victim of Night but I am worried about the mana. Maybe I'll see how playtesting pans out. Thanks for the suggestion!!

@pleasiodmakerblooloo - Maybe...I like the idea of it, but I will have to see how it plays. Though the fact that I can just sac it if I don't want to pay the upkeep is a big bonus.

Cards that provide lots of tokens + Congregate is also a brutal combo with Tainted Remedy.

Excile2127 says... #18

First of all, awesome deck! I would focus on using ONLY (except for OP cards like Bob) use cards that give your opponent life. Up the Oust, Condemn, Devour Flesh, etc. Remove Nyx-Fleece Ram and Pack Rat, as they don't support your goal. As others have said, add Grove of the Burnwillows, Mainboard Vizkopa Guildmage, and add Wall of Shards. Get rid of Phyrexian Arena as Bob will be good enough. Also get rid ofDoom Blade, as your oppoent doesn't gain life from it. They all do nasty stuff to your opponent. I love the idea and nice job! BTW: imagine a legacy deck with Tainted Remedy and Swords to Plowshares.

(When I said "they all do nasty stuff to your opponent", I meant Grove of the Burnwillows, Vizkopa Guildmage, and Wall of Shards.)

Scytec says... #20

@Excile2127 - Thanks for the comment!! But one of the things that makes a deck good is a little diversity, if I dedicate completely to one strategy, then many things could stop me instantly. Pack Rat is an incredible card, truly. It has earned its spot in my deck through numerous playtests. Wall of Shards replaced Nyx-Fleece this morning actually. Haha. I just have been at work all day and haven't updated my deck online yet. I may pull the arena, but I am not sure what to replace it with...maybe a good board removal such as Bile Blight or Drown in Sorrow to improve that game 1 matchups vs aggro. So far, that has been my main issues because I run so much spot removal. So I do appreciate the suggestion, but I do not want to create a deck dedicated to one strategy as it makes it too easy to deal with. Have a great one!

card suggestions:

switch the Doom Blades to more Path to Exiles or at least Dismember.

up the count on Rest for the Weary.

switch Nyx-Fleece Ram to Wall of Shards.

add Isochron Scepter because it targets just about everything you have.

also if you ever did want to make it 3 color, Heroes' Reunion is great.

October 16, 2015 9:45 p.m.

Scytec says... #22

@aholder7 - I like the idea of Isochron Scepter, but I am not sure what to pull for it...any suggestions?

how has Pack Rat been for an alternate win con? if its been lack luster, the scepter could take its place.

October 23, 2015 10:50 a.m.

Scytec says... #24

Not even a little, Pack Rat has been phenomenal. He's hard to answer without a wipe because you just make another one. Haha
