So this is my version of the infamous Norin's Sisters deck. I have playtested this baby back and forth and I've never seen so many players ragequit on cockatrice before.
Getting rid of your main deck engine
Norin the Wary
requires your opponent to use an activated ability - therefore he is a pain in the ass to remove. Even without Norin on the field the deck combos somewhat ok'ish by itself.
Purphoros, God of the Forge
will cause you to chip away at your opponent,
Champion of the Parish
will continue to grow and become a relevant threat,
Genesis Chamber
will flood the board (but beware it can be a double-edged sword).
Your cheerleaders in form of
Soul Warden
and
Soul's Attendant
will keep you healthy and your
Ajani's Pridemate
growing.
Ranger of Eos
makes sure you get Norin, any of the complementing combo pieces or situational cards.
Among the situational cards are
Grim Lavamancer
and
Legion Loyalist
- with the latter being a key to breaking through tough defenses.
Auriok Champion
is in there to nullify black/red threats and is generally a pain to remove without
Path to Exile
. I've often heard arguements against one-ofs, but this one doesn't hurt that much and you can fish out the others with the
Ranger of Eos
.
Lightning Bolt
can be used both aggressively and tactically - either trying to kill your opponent or get rid of his annoying creatures (early
Tarmogoyf
especially) -
Path to Exile
works similar in that regard.
Proclamation of Rebirth
will either swing the game back into your favour or make your opponent waste his removal, since you can get your smaller creatures back bit by bit using the forecast lategame.
Sideboard:
Here you should find most tools to deal with all kinds of decks.
Blood Moon
is the centerpiece against any multicoloured, fetchland packed, semi-slow deck.
Rest in Peace
and
Grafdigger's Cage
get sideboarded in against graveyard based/reanimator decks, you put them in instead of
Proclamation of Rebirth
and anything you find suiting at the given moment obviously.
Grafdigger's Cage
also takes care of
Polymorph
decks.
Kataki, War's Wage
and
Stony Silence
are our allstars against Affinity decks, with the latter taking care of
Birthing Pod
aswell. You put
Genesis Chamber
out for these babies since the chamber gives your opponent tokens aswell.
Wear / Tear
is very important against
Torpor Orb
, Bloom Titan and
Jeskai Ascendancy
decks. It also helps against Affinity.
Kor Firewalker
is in here currently to stand off against the popular Burn and U/R Delver decks that have been on the rise currently.
This deck has been hella fun to play as long as you track all the triggered abilities. You'll get used to it. Just as you might get used to win with this deck. For a budget deck it works wonders. Let me know whatcha all think!
