@supercaptainpow I had Oracle of Mul Daya in mind during early construction but focused my budget on the heavy creatures first. Now it is definitely going in most likely in place of Courser of Kruphix . The Maelstrom Wanderer is a great addition that gets that steam roll and triggers Animar. Just a matter of getting my hands on them. Thanks for the suggestion and view!

Vigor
turns the little free cast guys into actual blockers and beaters.
I would ditch a kobold for Dream Stalker
, Shrieking Drake
or Keymaster Rogue
. They don't cast for zero but they can be recast as often per turn as you have blue mana. Grinning Ignus
is another possibility with red mana.

@carpecanum Vigor is a great way to upgrade my creatures and board. I had thought of the numerous bounce creatures to put in but chose the kobolds over them because it combos infinitely with Cloudstone Curio . Plus, I find it hilarious when my nonthreatening 0/1 kobolds become the cause of my opponent's defeat. Thanks for the +1 and input.

Palinchron can let you combo out by itself. Along that same thought, with Cloudstone Curio out so can Cloud of Faeries , Great Whale and Peregrine Drake with a cheap colorless creature or free creature

Wrap in Vigor is a great way to protect your field (and animar) once your up and rolling with a bazillion creatures and a massive general on board. Mending Touch does it too but way worse.

Progenitor Mimic would definitely go nicely in this deck

You need some lands dude lol I know Animar cheats out creatures but you should have at least 35 lands in a commander deck for consistancy.

@Darkmelody12 I've played a considerable amount of games against a variety of decks, even land destruction, and albeit hard it's not impossible to win. This has been tuned out to its fullest for my needs and play style. Including the mana dorks and fetch, one can say I have 38 lands total. "Consistency" is good but boring by definition.

Cauldron of Souls can help keep Animar in play.
Strionic Resonator lets you double a lot of your triggered effects.

@HeroInMyOwnMind: Cauldron of Souls cannot keep Animar in play. Persists requires that a creature goes to the graveyard first. Therefore, Animar loses all of his +1/+1 counters before he returns to play with a -1/-1 counter (killing him anyways).

Yeah. I completely overlooked his base stats. Sorry about that. I don't know what I was thinking.

Infinite combos are kind of a chicken siht way to win anyway. Like saying, I'm not a good player, I need my cards to do the winning for me.

@garrettlstewart right? Get rid of the Cloudstone Curio or Ancestral Statue and it's a good'ol slug fest! Personally, I hold those cards back or take them out entirely for Acidic Slime and Trygon Predator.

I totally agree on the infinite combo shit. I have only ever played edh in a casual multiplayer setting, and some tool going off on a combo ruins the fun for everyone playing. +1 for hating that shit too.

really appreciate that, @Squelch31. Glad to see others who don't turn a casual format into douchebag crazy-competitive heights.

Oracle of Mul Daya helps dealing with land pockets like no other. Another good addition for any Animar deck is Maelstrom Wanderer . This guy is a beast and cheats out creatures quickly (with haste!).
