AHOY ME HEARTIES! Here be the Black Pearl come to shore! Get ready to swab this POOP DECK!!

Our bevy of custy pirates are going to steal creatures and artifacts, counter removals/settles, and plunder spells. While not threats themselves, these 1-, 2- and 4-drops are here as disruptive creatures that want to begin to warp the game in our favor.

The specter on board is going to feed us some cards off the opponent's deck. This being haunts the ship's hold and emerges to pilfer mad booty.

And our counterspells and removal are going to ensure that we can keep grinding in with the specter every turn and gradually overwhelm the opponent.

Treasure maps to give us filtering and midgame mana to crank out some of opponents spells.

Oh yeah, and theres a nightmare demon that is hiding in the lower decks so watch out for that.

I love dive down and it protects the thief and the demon, or even hostage taker.

Ultimately the goal here is: mad flavor, and play with the opponents cards.

Advice is greatly welcomed and appreciated, Im brewing this still.

Thanks for stopping by!

Played this deck against a version of jeskai control that was playing teferis, ral, settles, no creatures....

The game 1 matchup is generally pretty bad, with dead removal in hand and with hostage taker being a 4 mana vanilla 2/3. Being able to stick a few freebooters feels good, as does holding up stormtamer for settles, but I found in general I was losing too much time in the match, only getting in for a couple of damage a turn and having to make some awkward decisions....do I counter the draw spell or leave countermagic in hand to have my win con stick? I feel like there are good options in the board in negate, spyglass, etc, and I have added Nezahal here to replace the whisperer in the control matchup. It feels like Im missing something though....Chemister's Insight maybe? Or Arguel's Blood Fast  Flip? To be able to keep up?

Would really be interested to feel out the matchups with burn and aggro as I feel like there is a lot of adaptive potential to the build but am also picturing awkward game 1s as it takes some momentum for the pirates to really get going. Really sad that fatal push left us...

Any suggestions?
